MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 1, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Wednesday, May 26 at 11:53 pm, TFC M. B. Adams responded to Maple Road, east of Maryland Route 235 in Lexington Park, for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 36, of Lexington Park, who advised the motor vehicle accident occurred when Michael Adam Brown, 41, of Lexington Park, struck the vehicle she was operating with his vehicle. The complainant advised this was a result of her leaving following a previous argument. Mr. Brown was not on scene when units arrived, but later returned to provide a statement. Mr. Brown was arrested for Fleeing the Scene of an Accident and Second Degree Assault. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, May 27 at 9:08 am, TFC J. G. Fleetwood arrested Mark Thomas Krenzler, 25, of Mechanicsville, on a bench warrant (T3-14450) issued by the District Court of Worcester County on April 21. The original charge was CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. Mr. Krenzler was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, May 27 at 11:37 am, TFC C. M. Evans and Cpl. S. B. Koch were on patrol in the area of Laurel Grove Road at Kavanaugh Road in Loveville. TFC Evans and Cpl. Koch stopped Allen Leonard Morgan, 47, of Hollywood. A consent search of Mr. Morgan's person resulted in him being arrested for Possession of Crack Cocaine and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Morgan was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT LESS THAN $1000: On Thursday, May 27 at 2:13 pm, TFC J. R. Stern responded to the 48000 block of Far Cry Road in Lexington Park for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 69, of Lexington Park, who advised a chainsaw was stolen from his property by unknown suspects on an unknown date and time. The chainsaw was entered into METERS/NCIC and the investigation is ongoing. Any additional information regarding this case can be forwarded to Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On Thursday, May 27 at 10:00 pm, Tpr. J. S. Gibson responded to the 22000 block of Bayside Road in Leonardtown for a reported violation of protective order. Upon arrival, Tpr. Gibson, made contact with the female complainant, 30, of Leonardtown, who advised Joseph Leroy Lacey, Jr, 32, of Leonardtown, was in violation of a protective order by being outside of her residence. Mr. Lacey was arrested for violation of a protective order and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center until a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, May 28 at 2:48 am, Tpr. E. J. Page arrested Hope Gover Beggs, 55, of Park Hall, on a bench warrant (T3-14454) issued by the District Court in St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on May 27 for Driving On A Suspended License. Ms. Beggs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, May 28 at 9:30 pm, Cpl. J. L. Linger conducted a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 4 and Maryland Route 235 on a red 2002 Subaru. Upon making contact with the occupants, Cpl. Linger detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Subsequently a probable cause search of the vehicle and occupants led to the arrest of the passenger, Michael Brandon Beach, 20, of Mechanicsville. Mr. Beach was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, May 29 at 7:48 pm, Tpr. N. E. Gresko attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Buick in the area of Maryland Route 238 and Mill Point Road in Chaptico. Upon the activation of police emergency equipment, the driver turned off the roadway into a private driveway and fled the scene. Additional units assisted in locating the male subject that fled the scene. Philip Rhodie Quade, III, 37, of Chaptico, was located in a shed in the surrounding area and arrested for fleeing and eluding. Subsequently, Mr. Quade was determined to have been operating while under the influence of alcohol and also had possession of marijuana. Mr. Quade was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, May 29 at 11:45 pm, TFC M. B. Adams arrested Dale Coon, 41, of Lusby, on an Arrest Warrant (T3-14456) issued by the District Court of Calvert County on May 2. Mr. Coon was originally charged with Second Degree Assault, and transported to St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Coon will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
