MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 9, 2010) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: On May 31 at 9:38 p.m., Trooper Logsdon responded to the 120 block of German Chapel Road in Prince Frederick for a reported vehicle theft. Kevin R. Boylen, 49 of Hughesville, was charged with removing a 1985 Toyota Sonoma truck from the residence. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On June 1 at 10:10 a.m., Trooper First Class Johns responded to the 9200 block of Megatha Lane in Owings for a report of theft from a vehicle. An unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway was entered and a Garmin GPS was stolen.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 1 at 2:06 p.m., Trooper Wyer conducted a traffic stop on a motorized scooter traveling south on HG Trueman Road in Lusby. The operator, Gregorik B. Collington Jr., 24 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On June 2 at 7:00 a.m., Trooper First Class Bowling responded to the 2600 block of Lady Anne's Way in Huntingtown for a reported theft from a vehicle. An unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway was entered and a heart monitor remote and several other items were stolen.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On June 2 at 1:40 p.m., Trooper First Class Bowling responded to the 180 block of Miss Sam's Way in Huntingtown for a reported theft from a vehicle. An unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway was entered and a Garmin GPS, a two-way Radio (walkie talkie) and several other items were stolen.

CONCEALED DANGEROUS WEAPON: On June 4 at 2:55 p.m., Trooper Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the Dunkirk Market Place Shopping Center. Two knoves were located, one under the driver's seat and another inside the armrest. Leonard C. Hill, Jr., 23 of Upper Marlboro, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On June 7 at 9:53 p.m., Trooper Bender stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Nursery Road in Lusby. Donald A. Chomas, 41 of Kensington, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

As you can tell from the reports this week, unlocked vehicles are an easy mark for criminals. Please remove valuables from vehicles and keep your vehicles locked at all times.
