MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 18, 2010) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 14 at 11:35 am, TFC M. B. Adams arrested Lisa Marie West, 41, of Great Mills on an Arrest Warrant (T3-14471) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on January 29 for Failure to Appear on a Department of Natural Resources case. Ms. West was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Monday, June 14 at 4:59 pm, Tpr. G. A. Thompson responded to the 26000 block of Prospect Hill Drive in Mechanicsville for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 31, of Mechanicsville who advised she was assaulted by a juvenile male, 15, of Mechanicsville. Interviews with both the victim and suspect resulted in the arrest of the juvenile for Second Degree Assault. The juvenile was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack and released to a parent pending further action by juvenile services.

THEFT LESS THAN $100: On Monday, June 14 at 5:45 pm, Tpr. M. J. Pitcher responded to 45000 block of First Colony Boulevard for a reported theft. Upon arrival at Pam's Hallmark, Tpr. Pitcher contacted the complainant and a witness, 41, of Hollywood, both of whom advised that a juvenile stole from the retail establishment. Information provided by the witness and the suspect resulted in the arrest of a juvenile male, 11, of Great Mills. The juvenile was released on scene to a parent pending further action by juvenile services.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, June 15 at 3:41 am, TFC J. R. Stern responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Maryland Route 249 and Andover Estates Road in Piney Point. Investigations related to the accident lead units to the 22000 block of Point Lookout Road for an interview with Bruce Edward Burroughs, 39, of Leonardtown. Mr. Burroughs was arrested for traffic related offenses; however, a search incident to arrest revealed CDS - Not Marijuana in Mr. Burroughs' possession. Mr. Burroughs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Tuesday, June 15 at 8:10 am, Tpr. N. E. Gresko responded to the 46000 block of Shine Willow Way in Lexington Park for a reported malicious destruction of property. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 34, of Saint Leonard who advised that between the evening of June 14 and the morning of June 15, unknown suspects caused damage to a vacant residence. This investigation is ongoing; any information pertaining this case may be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, June 15 at 9:36 am, Tpr. N. E. Gresko conducted a traffic stop on a gold Volvo for a traffic violation in the area of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park. Following contact with the sole occupant of the vehicle, an MVA check revealed that the occupant, Milford Anthwan Brooks, 50, of Lexington Park had a suspended license. Subsequently, Mr. Brooks was arrested for Driving On A Suspended License. An attempt by Tpr. Gresko to secure the vehicle disclosed CDS Paraphernalia in plain view. Mr. Brooks was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and additionally charged with the CDS related offenses. He will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 15 at 3:00 pm, Tpr. N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-14472) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on James A. Lincoln, 18, of California. The warrant was issued on June 11 for Resisting Arrest and Obstructing and Hindering. Mr. Lincoln turned himself into the Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 15 at 9:50 pm, Tpr. S. Casarella served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14448) on James Harold Shirley, 42, of Mechanicsville while he was in custody at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. The original charge was related to a traffic offense. Mr. Shirley will be held at the Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

POSSESSION OF CONTRABAND: On Tuesday, June 15 at 9:50 pm, while being served on an Arrest Warrant, James Harold Shirley, 42, of Mechanicsville was found to be in possession of contraband in a place of confinement. A secondary search at the St. Mary's County Detention Center revealed unauthorized items in Mr. Shirley's possession. Mr. Shirley was charged accordingly and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 16 at 4:45 pm, TFC C. M. Evans arrested Tercell Javon Blackiston, 22, of Leonardtown on a Bench Warrant (T3-14404) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on April 20. The original charge was Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Blackiston was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 16 at 7:54 pm, TFC C. M. Evans arrested Eugene William Grimley, 33, of Mechanicsville on a Bench Warrant (T3-14452) issued by the District Court in Charles County. The warrant was issued on April 22 for Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Grimley was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
