Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Aug. 9, 2010) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of August 2 through August 8 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to 1,725 calls for service throughout the community. Additionally, deputies arrested 16 people and charged them with DWI/DUI during the week.

DISORDERLY: Dep. V. Evans arrested John Tennyson Vansickle, 38 of Lusby on August 3 at 7:00 p.m. Evans had been called to the Tiki Bar in Solons for the report of an intoxicated subject lying on the ground. After calling for a ride for the subject, Evans observed the two to become involved in an argument. Vansickle began yelling and was told to quiet down. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and causing a public disturbance.

BURGLARY: A home on Catalina Drive in Lusby was burglarized sometime between July 30 and August 3. A Playstation 3 and controllers valued at $420 were stolen. Dep. J. Lord is investigating.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: DFC E. Bradley is investigating the theft of a Disney DVD player with dual screens stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The theft occurred outside a home on Grover Lane in Lusby between August 5 and 6. A second theft occurred while a vehicle was parked outside a home on Beech Drive. The victim is unsure if the vehicle had been locked. An iHome iPod docking station worth $300 was taken. Another unlocked vehicle on Gray Drive was also entered during the same time frame and an iPod Nano, Zombieland DVD and iPod cable were stolen. A fourth unlocked vehicle on Mohawk Drive was entered and rummage through but nothing appears to have been taken. DFC Bradley is investigating the thefts. THEFT FROM VEHICLE: An unlocked vehicle was entered sometime on August 6 on Bourne Road in Owings and a DVD player was stolen. DFC J. Livingston is investigating.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Dep. J. Lord is investigating the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle between August 1 and 2 outside a home on Hill Road in St. Leonard.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Sometime between August 5 and 6 unknown suspect(s) rummaged through an unlocked vehicle on Sachem Trail in Lusby and then stole a black and orange BMX Eliminator bicycle from the yard. Dep. V. Evans is investigating this theft as well as another theft from an unlocked vehicle on Gray Drive during the same time period in which an Apple iPod Nano and several other items were stolen.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE:Cpl. M. McCarroll is investigating the theft of spare change from a vehicle on Sky View Lane in Lusby between July 27 and August 7. The victim advised that the vehicle had been locked.

CDS VIOLATION: DFC E. Bradley responded to the Walgreen Pharmacy in Lusby on August 7 for the report of a fraudulent prescription. The suspect, later identified as John Pitt Jordan, 37 of Mechanicsville, dropped off a prescription for Oxycodone which was found to be fraudulent. Jordan came back to the store to pick up the order and was arrested and charged with attempting to unlawfully possess Oxycodone in sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to distribute, attempting to obtain Oxycodone by forging a prescription and uttering a false prescription.

THEFT: Three kayaks valued at $1850 were stolen from behind a home on Soper Road in Huntingtown. All three kayaks are made by Oldtown, one is green, one a multicolor blue and the third is tan. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. R. Kreps at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: DFC C. Fischer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on August 7 at 7:33 p.m. at Md. Rt. 4 and Dunleigh Drive in Dunkirk. The driver turned onto Dunleigh Drive, threw items out the window, and then pulled to a stop at Dunleigh Drive and Dunleigh Court. The driver, later identified as Halleem Delray Stewart, 31 of Kennesaw, GA, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, E-Z Wider and Top rolling papers.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On August 7 at 11:42 p.m. DFC T. Phelps responded to Applebee's Restaurant in Prince Frederick for the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival he observed the suspect sitting on the curb yelling profanity. The suspect appeared to be intoxicated. He was told to quiet down but did not. Phelps subsequently arrested Bobby David Martin, 54 of no fixed address and charged him with disorderly conduct and failure to obey a lawful order.

CDS VIOLATION: Police responded to a home on Lottie Fowler Road in Prince Frederick after someone from the house called 911 and said they were on PCP and felt sick. DFC J. Windsor, Dep. R. Brady and DFC C. Ray responded and observed two males in the yard who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Suspected drugs were located in the residence and porch area. Robert Leon Pirner, 42 and Roger Lee Hill, 50, both of Prince Frederick, were each arrested and charged with possession of phencyclidine and use of drug paraphernalia, a glass jar.
