BALTIMORE (September 2, 2010) – As early voting officially begins in Maryland and with the primary less than two weeks, Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler and the Office of Attorney General have set up a hotline and email to receive complaints of voter intimidation, voter suppression, and voter misinformation. Beginning Friday, September 3, Marylanders can call the Attorney General’s voter hotline at 1-866-298-8245 or file a complaint via email at voting@oag.state.md.us.

To answer questions about issues other than voter intimidation or fraud, Marylanders should call the Maryland State Board of Elections at 1-800-222-8683.

If your questions concern the following or similar issues, then please contact the State Board of Elections at 1-800-222-8683:

-- Where do I vote?

--- Am I registered to vote?

--- What time does my polling place open or close?

--- When is early voting?

--- Where is my polling place?

--- What do I do if I did not receive my absentee ballot?

--- Are materials available in Spanish or other languages?

If your questions concern the following or similar issues, then please contact the Maryland Office of the Attorney General at 1-866-298-8245:

-- Where do I report complaints regarding false or misleading campaign literature?

-- Can former felons register to vote?

--- May a person vote if he or she is delinquent on child support payments or has several parking tickets?

--- Where do I report concerns of voter intimidation?

--- Does my polling place have to be accessible for persons with disabilities?

--- Where do I file complaints if I feel that I am being harassed or prohibited from voting because of my race or ethnicity?
