MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 1, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, October 28 at 10:55am, Tpr. E. R. Mersman served a bench warrant (T3-14641) on Peggy Lynn Jones, 37, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on October 27 with an original charge of Theft Less Than $1000.00. Ms. Jones was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, October 28 at 3:59pm, TFC E. J. Page served a bench warrant (T3-14552) on Wayne Edward Brengle, 38, of Waldorf. Mr. Brengle was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center to satisfy a detainer that placed on file while incarcerated at the Charles County Detention Center in September of 2010. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on August 20 with an original charge of Malicious Destruction of Property. Mr. Brengle was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, October 29 at 1:07am, TFC E. M. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a blue Chevrolet Impala in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Old Flora Corner Road for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Peter Thomas Morawski, 26, of Buffalo, New York, TFC Evans detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from Mr. Morawski's breath. Mr. Morawski was asked to exit the vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety, in doing so, TFC Evans observed in plain view CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Morawski was subsequently arrested, with a search incident to arrest also revealing marijuana in the vehicle. Mr. Morawski was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, October 29 at 12:15pm, TFC M. R. Grimes arrested Derrick A. Middleton, 21, of Mechanicsville on a bench warrant (T3-14596) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Theft Less Than $100.00 on September 24. Mr. Middleton was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, October 29 at 1:15pm, TFC M. R. Grimes served a bench warrant (T3-14640) on Tyre Ahkeem Herbert, 20, of Callaway. The warrant was issued on October 26 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Herbert was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, October 29 at 9:16pm, Tpr. S. M. Morton arrested Ashley E. Grant, 20, of Dennison, Ohio on an outstanding bench warrant (T3-14645) issued by the District Court of Charles County. The warrant was issued on October 29 with an original charge of Driving Without a Required License. Ms. Grant was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, October 31 at 3:30am, Tpr. S. M. Ditoto arrested Andreas M. Blyden, 30, of Callaway on a bench warrant (T3-14518) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Second Degree Assault on July 23. Mr. Blyden was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, October 31 at 5:13am, Tpr. S. M. Ditoto responded to the 47000 block of Trinity Church Road in St. Mary's City for a report of a Subject in Possession of CDS. Upon arrival contact was made with Public Safety officers that advised at approximately 4:00am, they observed a Ford Escort in the parking lot. Upon making contact with the occupant of the vehicle, the Public Safety Officers observed marijuana in plain view. The subject was detained until law enforcement arrival. Tpr. Ditoto made contact with the detained subject, Joshua Michael Newmeyer, 20, of Lothian, and following information provided by Mr. Newmeyer placed him under arrest for Possession of CDS. A search incident to arrest, revealed additional CDS in the vehicle. Mr. Newmeyer was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, October 31 at 11:15am, TFC M. R. Grimes served a bench warrant (T3-14646) issued by the District Court of Charles County on Brandy N. Pilkerton, 29, of Bryantown. The warrant was issued on August 31 with an original charge of Theft Less Than $100.00. Ms. Pilkerton was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
