Two 16-year-olds Arrested for Series of Burglaries, Thefts


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 11, 2010)—Two sixteen year-olds from Lexington Park have been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries, thefts and one strong armed robbery dating back to April. Names have not been released by police due to the age of those arrested.

The arrests came on the tail of an investigation by the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Detectives connected the teens with crimes committed against: K-Mart, Jug Head Liquors, 2000 Liquors, Target, Radio Shack, and a citizen robbery on Card Road in Lexington Park.

The first teen was charged with four counts of second degree burglary, four counts of destruction of property, two count of theft over $1,000 but under $10,000, and two counts of theft under $1,000.

The second teen was charged with one count of robbery, one count of second degree assault, two counts of theft under $1,000, and one count of second degree burglary.

Both boys were released to the custody of their parents pending further action from Juvenile Services and the courts, according to Juvenile Services.
