LA PLATA, Md. (November 16, 2010)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DETECTIVES CHARGE MAN WITH BURGLARY: Charles County Sheriff's detectives charged Luis Alberto Martinez, 18, of Temple Hills, in connection with a burglary and theft that occurred at Cricket Wireless in the 11700 block of Business Park Drive. On November 11, officers responded to the shop after employees called to report someone had broken in and stolen hundreds of electronics including cell phones and computers. Detectives conducted an investigation and determined the theft was committed by another employee. Martinez was arrested and charged with burglary and theft. The investigation is on-going. Detectives Hemsley and Long investigated.

ASSAULT: On November 13 at 10:15 p.m., a woman was walking toward the IHOP in the 100 block of Rosewick Road when a male approached her from behind and grabbed her buttock. The suspect fled in a small white pick up truck with a customized tailgate and a tag that was recessed in the back window. Officers canvassed the area and learned the suspect had been outside the business talking on his cell phone minutes before the assault. Officer McDonald is investigating.

PATROL OFFICERS APPREHENDED ROBBERY SUSPECTS/RECOVER STOLEN PROPERTY AND SEIZE STOLEN CAR AND GUN: On November 13 at 2:25 a.m., officers responded to the Super 8 motel in the 4600 block of Indian Head Highway in Indian Head for the report of a robbery in progress. An investigation revealed three suspects entered the motel, struck an employee and stole money, a cell phone and a laptop; they fled in a brown SUV. Officers canvassed the area and spotted the suspects a short distance away. An officer in an unmarked vehicle followed the suspects into Prince George's County where a traffic stop was eventually initiated. The suspects fled to Vestula Drive where four suspects jumped from the truck and ran in different directions. Two suspects were apprehended a short time later by Charles County officers who found them hiding under the deck of a nearby house. A stolen semi-automatic handgun and the victim's cell phone were recovered from the suspects. The victim's laptop was recovered in the SUV which was also reported stolen from Prince George's County. The two suspects, 16 and 17, were arrested and charged with robbery, assault and other offenses. The investigation is continuing. Sgt. Hastings and Cpl.'s Spaulding, Graham and Gotschall made the arrests.

BURGLARY: Sometime between November 12 - November 15, unknown suspect broke into a construction site trailer in the 3800 block of Livingston Road and stole tools and machinery. The scene was processed for evidence. Officer Burger is investigating.
