MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 18, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT UNDER $100, DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, November 14 at 4:10 pm, TFC E. J. Page responded to the McKay's Food on Signature Lane in Lexington Park for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 53, of Lexington Park, who advised a female patron in the store was found to be in possession of stolen merchandise from the establishment. TFC Page made contact with the female, Tina Louise Babcock, 27, of Callaway, and a male subject identified as Bryant Mitchell Richardson, 21, of Callaway. Both subjects were arrested for Theft Under $100.00. A search incident to arrest also revealed that Mr. Richardson was in possession of Oxycodone pills. Ms. Babcock and Mr. Richardson were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged according. Both subjects will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

BURGLARY: On Tuesday, November 16 at 9:13 am, TFC S. M. Ditoto responded to the 21000 block of Great Mills Road for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 62, of Leonardtown, who advised between 12:30 pm on November 15 and 9:00 am on November 16, unknown subjects entered the Golf Shop and removed and damaged property. TFC Ditoto collected evidence at the scene. Any information pertaining to this burglary can be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Wednesday, November 17 at 11:43 pm, TFC M. B. Adams responded to the Wawa on Three Notch Road in California for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 28, of Great Mills, who advised he observed a male subject exit the premises of the establishment with merchandise that had not been paid for. Prior to police arrival, the subject left the Wawa heading southbound on Maryland Route 235. An emergency communications broadcast resulted in TFC E. J. Page locating the vehicle in the area of Persimmon Creek Road in Mechanicsville. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Christopher Lee Guyther, 23, of Mechanicsville. Information provided by Mr. Guyther resulted in him being detained and transported back to the Wawa location. Mr. Guyther was positively identified and placed under arrest for Theft Under $100. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, November 18 at 1:31 am, TFC N. E. Gresko initiated a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 235 and MacArthur Boulevard on a red Ford Ranger for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, she identified herself as Hope Gover Beggs, 55, of Park Hall. A NCIC and MVA query revealed that Ms. Beggs had an outstanding warrant and was suspended from driving in Maryland. Ms. Beggs was placed under arrest. Information provided and evidence produced by Ms. Beggs resulted in her being additionally charged with CDS Possession and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. Ms. Beggs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
