MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (December 13, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Monday, December 6 at 12:58 pm, TFC C. M. Evans responded to the McKay's Groceries on Signature Lane in Lexington Park for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 53, of Lexington Park, and a male witness, both of whom advised a juvenile male was observed placing unpaid for merchandise on his person and attempting to exit the establishment without purchasing the items. The juvenile was detained until law enforcement arrival. Arrested for theft under $100.00 was a male juvenile, 16, of Lexington Park. The juvenile was charged accordingly and transported to the 45000 block of Abell Drive in California where he was released to a guardian pending further action by juvenile services.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, December 7 at 8:29 am, TFC N. E. Gresko conducted a traffic stop on a maroon Chevrolet in the parking lot of the Fast Stop across from Leonardtown High School for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with occupants of the vehicle, TFC Gresko detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted on occupants and the vehicle. All results were negative with the exception of a male juvenile, 17, of Leonardtown, who was found to be in possession of Marijuana. The juvenile was arrested for Possession of CDS and the remaining occupants were released from the scene of the traffic stop. The juvenile was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack where he was charged and released to a guardian pending further action by juvenile services.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, December 7 at 5:39 pm, Tpr. S. Casarella initiated a traffic stop on a white Honda Civic in the area of Bishop Road and Sandy Lane in Loveville for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the occupants of the vehicles, Tpr. Casarella detected the odor of burnt marijuana. A probable cause search revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia in the vehicle and on the occupants. Arrested for Possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia was Joseph Alexander Tennison, 19, of Hollywood, and Tyler Wade Homan, 19, of Hollywood. Both subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, December 9 at 12:48 am, TFC J. S. Gibson initiated a traffic stop on a black Dodge on Pegg Road at Maryland Route 237 for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Curtis Stephen Hufford, 21, of California, TFC Gibson detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Hufford was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, December 10 at 2:30 pm, Cpl. M. W. Laney served a Circuit Court warrant (T3-13958) on John Benjamin Gough, 37, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County on May 18, 2009 with an original charge of CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. Mr. Gough was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, December 10 at 7:45 pm, TFC C. M. Evans served a bench warrant (T3-14455) on Christopher Logan Firestien, 41, of California. A warrant was issued for Mr. Firestien's arrest on May 27, 2010 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Second Degree Assault. Mr. Firestien was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, December 11 at 9:05 am, TFC K. D. Lashley served a bench warrant (T3-14686) on Timothy A. Young, 49, of Avenue. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on November 22, 2010 with an original charge of CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. Mr. Young was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, December 11 at 4:00 pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a bench warrant (T3-14704) on Lester Jermaine Johnson, 34, of Lexington Park. A warrant was issued for Mr. Johnson's arrest on December 8, 2010 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mr. Johnson was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
