MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (December 16, 2010)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, December 9 at 1:45 am, TFC M. R. Grimes initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Sheetz on Maryland Route 5, at Maryland Route 246 on a black Kia Spectra for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver, Corey Michael Arias, 18, of Mechanicsville, TFC Grimes observed what appeared to be marijuana in plain view. After positively identifying the CDS, a probable cause search was performed for additional items. Results of the search revealed additional CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Arias was arrested for possession of the items and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On Friday, December 10 at 3:40 am, Tpr. E. R. Mersman conducted a traffic stop in the Wawa parking lot on Three Notch Road in Lexington Park on a black Chrysler. Upon making contact with the driver, Marcus Donnell Rogers, 27, of Great Mills, Tpr. Mersman detected the odor of alcoholic beverages was emitting from Mr. Rogers' breath. In the midst of the traffic stop and performance of standardized field sobriety Mr. Rogers became disorderly. With the assistance of Cpl. J. L. Linger, Tpr. Mersman arrested Mr. Rogers for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Rogers was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, December 10 at 6:36 pm, TFC N. E. Gresko attempted to stop a blue Buick in the area of Pegg Road and Gloucester Court in Lexington Park, however, the vehicle did not immediately stop. The vehicle sped up and turned onto Gloucester Court before stopping, during which time TFC Gresko observed items being discarded from the driver's side window. Prior to making contact with the occupants of the vehicle, TFC Gresko retrieved the discarded items. Upon approach, the odor of burnt marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. All occupants were detained and questioned. Arrested for Possession of CDS was Jamar Tercell Somerville, 19; Troy Dwayne Barnes, 33; and Kyle Blake Henderson, 18; all of Lexington Park. All subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly before being held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, December 11 at 12:04 am, TFC J. S. Gibson initiated a traffic stop on a black Kia on Crimson Drive at Willows Road in Lexington Park for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator Corey Michael Arias, 18, of Mechanicsville, TFC Gibson detected the odor or burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle and Mr. Arias' person revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Arias was uncooperative and disorderly during the search of the vehicle and resisted arrested. Mr. Arias was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with CDS Possession With Intent to Distribute. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, December 12 at 2:09 am, Cpl. J. L. Linger initiated a traffic stop on a red Toyota Camry in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Sunnyside Road for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, Mark DeAngelo Frederick, Jr., 27, of Loveville, Cpl. Linger detected the odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. A MVA query of the Georgia license Mr. Frederick provided indicated that his driving privileges were suspended. A field sobriety check was performed on the scene of the stop, and a physical pat down of Mr. Frederick's person revealed CDS in his possession. Mr. Frederick was arrested for Possession of CDS and Driving On A Suspended License. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, December 14 at 2:20 pm, Tpr. S. Casarella served a bench warrant (T3-14600) on John Anoyon Baker, 39, of Clements for Driving on a Revoked License. The warrant was issued for Mr. Baker's arrest on September 28 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Baker was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, December 15 at 8:50 pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton arrested Andre Antwon Montgomery, 31, of Lexington Park on an outstanding arrest warrant (T3-14713) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued on the same date with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Mr. Montgomery was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
