St. Mary's Co. BCI Police Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 5, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) recently released the following incident and arrest reports. BCI is an investigative team comprised of detectives from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown.

HOMELESS MAN FROZE TO DEATH: On December 15, officers responded to a report of an individual deceased in a wooded area along Great Mills Road in Lexington Park. The deceased was identified as Gregory Glenn Gray, age 50, of no fixed address. Mr. Gray's body was sent to the Office of the Maryland State Medical Examiner for an autopsy. The Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the cause of death to be hypothermia.

HOME INVASION SUSPECTS SOUGHT: On January 2 at approximately 6:45 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Cabot Place in Lexington Park for a report of a home invasion/robbery. Preliminary investigation revealed three black males, wearing masks, entered the residence, stabbed the victim, stole property from the residence and fled on foot. A canine search of the area was conducted but none of the suspects were located. The victim was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where he was treated and released.

BCI responded and is continuing the investigation. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed or have information about this investigation to call Detective/Corporal Ray at 301-475-4200, extension 9058 or Crime Solvers at 301-475-3333. Tipsters can also text their tips to "TIP239" plus your message to "CRIMES" (274637). Callers and tipsters do not have to leave a name, just the information. If the information leads to an arrest and conviction, the caller/tipster may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

LIQUOR STORE ROBBERS SOUGHT: On December 3 at approximately at 10:20 p.m., three males entered the Sign of the Whale on Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, displayed a handgun, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and property from the business and fled. A canine search of the area was conducted but the suspects were not located. The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect Number 1: white male, black ski mask, black North Face jacket, dark colored pants with a black stripe.

Suspect Number 2: black male, blue ski hat, black ski mask, black leather jacket, light blue jeans and blue gloves.

Suspect Number 3: black male, black mask, gray or black jacket, blue jeans rolled at the bottom, possibly brown shoes.

BCI responded and is continuing the investigation.
