MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 20, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 13 at 9:30am, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-14991) on Melissa Ann Ramirez, 21, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving Without A License on June 10 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Ms. Ramirez was located in the 45000 block of Heather Street in Great Mills and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, June 14 at 12:20am, TFC K. D. Lashley responded to a broadcast for a suspicious vehicle in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Maryland Route 249 in Callaway. Upon arrival, contact was made with an occupant of the vehicle, who advised the vehicle had run out of gasoline and he was waiting for another subject to return to the scene with fuel. The subject was identified as John Robert Townshend, 52, of California. A query of Mr. Townshend through METERS/NCIC revealed that Mr. Townshend was wanted for Theft by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. An attempted to detain Mr. Townshend resulted in a short foot pursuit when Mr. Townshend attempted to flee the scene on foot. Once apprehended a search incident to arrest revealed that Mr. Townshend was in possession of CDS. Mr. Townshend was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 14 at 12:15pm, TFC E. M. Evans served a Bench Warrant (T3-14591) on Victoria Alisha Adams, 21, of Waldorf. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on September 23, 2010 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Ms. Adams turned herself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 14 at 12:45pm, Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14994) on Daniel Brian Evans, 24, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on June 10 with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Mr. Evans was located in the 46000 block of Franklin Road in Lexington Park and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Evans was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, June 15 at 1:05am, TFC M. A. Moore served a Bench Warrant (T3-14996) on Edward Raleigh Curley, IV, 29, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued for Mr. Curley by the District Court of Charles County on June 13 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Curley was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT UNDER $1000: On Wednesday, June 15 at 6:00pm, TFC A. J. Malaspina and TFC J. S. Gibson responded to the Kohl's Department Store in the 22000 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park for a reported shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, two subjects were identified and prevented from leaving the establishment. Contact was made with a male complainant, 22, of Lusby who advised he observed the two subjects and a few others attempting to conceal merchandise on them. Additional subjects involved in the theft were also located and directed to the Loss Prevention office. Inventory of the items in the possession of the subjects revealed that thefts had been committed at multiple retail establishments within the area. Four female juveniles, between 12 and 13 years of age, from California and Great Mills and one male juvenile, 13, of Great Mills where charged with Theft Under $1000.00. All juveniles were released to guardians pending further action by Juvenile Services and all merchandise was returned to the appropriate location.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 16 at 1:00pm, TFC G. A. Thompson served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-14982) on Jarron Alonzo Jennings, 19, of Glenn Dale. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County on June 6 as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for Negligent Manslaughter- Auto/Boat/Other Vehicle. Mr. Jennings was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, June 17 at 5:44pm, TFC E. M. Evans served a Bench Warrant (T3-14916) on Michael Shane Gardner, 48, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued by the District Court of Charles County on April 7 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Gardner was located in the 38000 block of Wanda Lane in Mechanicsville and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, June 17 at 11:38pm, TFC E. J. Page served a Bench Warrant (T3-14974) on Samantha Lee Hower, 18, of Lusby. The warrant was issued on June 1 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Attaching Unauthorized Vehicle Registration Plate with Intent to Conceal / Knowing Driving An Uninsured Vehicle. Ms. Hower was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. She was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT, DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, June 18 at 6:19pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher responded to the Food Lion on Merchants Lane in Leonardtown for a reported Theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 31, of Leonardtown who advised he observed a female subject exit the store with unpaid for merchandise. The female was believed to have left the scene on a St. Mary's County Transportation System bus. Contact was made with the Emergency Communications Center to establish the next location of the STS bus, at which time a broadcast was given of the potential suspect. A deputy made contact with the female at Third Base and detained the female until TFC Pitcher's arrival. Upon arrival, TFC Pitcher made contact with Patricia Ann Holt, 35, of Loveville. Ms. Holt was found to be in possession of multiple stolen items. In the process of recovering the stolen merchandise, Ms. Holt was found to be in possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Ms. Holt was placed under arrested for CDS Possession and Theft. All stolen items were returned to the retailer, and Ms. Holt was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

UNAUTHORIZED REMOVAL OF PROPERTY: On Saturday, June 18 at 10:23pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher responded to a Wawa in the 23000 block of Three Notch Road in California for a reported Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle. While en route to the location, information was provided that a female was in possession of a Honda Accord, burgundy in color and standing by for her mother at the location. Upon arrival, TFC Pitcher observed a female and vehicle matching the description. Once contact was made with the female juvenile, 13, of Hollywood, a query through MVA revealed that the juvenile was unlicensed and therefore not permitted to drive. While on scene, TFC Pitcher was contacted by a female complainant, 37, of Hollywood who advised the juvenile was not licensed and did not have permission to operate the vehicle. Following information provided by the complainant, the juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack where she was charged accordingly. The juvenile was released guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.
