CALIFORNIA, Md. (July 15, 2011) -- Friday morning in St. Mary's County, several alleged drug traffickers were rounded up and arrested on federal warrants. The accused were indicted by a federal grand jury in the United States District Court, District of Maryland, Southern Division on July 13.

Those arrested include:

-- Brian Deandre Bush, a/k/a "Whack" (Age 41 of Hollywood, Md.);
-- Alexander Sternack III (Age 37 of Mechanicsville, Md);
-- John Larry Dickerson (Age 41);
-- John Edward Butler, a/k/a "Eddie" and "Lover" (Age 35 of Mechanicsville, Md.);
-- Kerry Alexander Bond, Sr., a/k/a "Junkie" and "Buck" (Age 39 of Leonardtown, Md.);
-- Demetrius Deandre Young, a/k/a "Meaty" (Age 21 of Mechanicsville, Md); and
-- Marcus Tyrek Chase (Age 26 of Lexington Park, Md.).

The arrests were made by the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI), Narcotics Division, with the assistance of local, state, and federal law enforcement.

"This investigation and subsequent indictments of individuals engaged in large scale narcotics trafficking are a result of pro-active partnerships between federal and local authorities who are committed to making communities safer by identifying, arresting, and prosecuting individuals involved in the sale of drugs," noted a press release issued by police this afternoon.

The investigation remains on-going and the federal indictment remains sealed. More indictments and arrests are anticipated, say police.
