St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (October 24, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

TRESPASSING: On October 19 at approximately 5:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Three Oaks Shelter in Lexington Park for a report of a trespasser. Investigation revealed Steven Wayne Carter, 51, had been residing at the shelter and violated one of the center's residential policies. Carter was asked to leave the premises several times by shelter personnel but refused. Deputies arrived and instructed Carter to leave the premises. Carter initially complied but a short time later he returned. Deputies were called back to the scene and instructed Carter to leave. Carter refused to leave the shelter and was subsequently arrested and charged with trespassing by Corporal Ross.

TRESPASSING: On October 21 at approximately 1:50 a.m., deputies responded to the St. Mary's Square in Lexington Park for a report of a subject yelling and using profanity at patrons of World Gym. Deputy Foor responded to the scene and located Ellen Bradshaw Marley, 48, of no fixed address. Deputy Foor instructed Marley to leave the shopping center several times, but she refused. Marley was arrested by Deputy Foor and charged with trespassing.

TRESPASSING: On October 21 at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to Subway located at 21729 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for the report of a trespasser. Investigation revealed Steven Wayne Carter, 51, of no fixed address, was given an order not to trespass at Subway on October 19. Deputy Foor arrived at the scene and located Carter who was sitting in the restaurant. Deputy Foor arrested Carter and charged him with trespassing.

SHOPLIFTING COPPER WIRE FROM LOWES: On October 20, Robert J. Bysheim, 23, of Lusby, and his brother, Christopher A. Bysheim, 24, of Lusby, entered the Lowes Home Improvement Center in California. The two suspects were observed by witnesses, loading copper wire, valued at less than $1,000 into a shopping cart and leave the store without paying. The suspects fled in a vehicle and a lookout was broadcast. Deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle and detained the occupants pending the arrival of detectives from the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations. The suspect were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged with theft less than $1,000. Additional charges are pending a review with the St. Mary's County State's Attorney's Office.

CORRECTED BLOTTER: SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On October 6, at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Chestnut Way in Lexington Park for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Ricky Thomas Hobson, 27, of Lexington Park, engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Hobson choked the victim. The victim fled to a neighbor's residence, where Hobson broke several windows trying to gain entry. Deputy Rodgers responded to the scene. Hobson was arrested and charged with second degree assault and malicious destruction of property.
