MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (January 19, 2012)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

DUI, POSSESSION OF DRUGS: On 1/7/2012 at 8:14 pm, Trooper First Class Evans stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 4 south of Ball Rd. in St. Leonard. The driver, Scott T. Hewerdine, 52 of Middletown, was arrested for DUI and a search revealed that he was in possession of Phencyclidine (PCP), Morphine and Hydrocodone. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 1/9/2012 at 10:53 am, Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Armory Rd. near Main St. in Prince Frederick. During the traffic stop, drug paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle. The driver, William G. Simpson, 18 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT: On 1/10/2012 at 2:14 pm, Trooper First Class Hunt responded to the 5300 block of Ketch Rd. in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. Three heat pumps were damaged and dismantled. Piping inside the heat pumps was stolen. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 1/11/2012 at 3:12 am, Trooper Costello stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 260 at Paris Estates Ct. in Owings. A search of the vehicle revealed that the driver, Joshua O. Oakes, 18 of Owings, was in possession of Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT: On 1/2012/2012 at 4:53 pm, Trooper First Class Logsdon responded to the 3700 block of Solomons Island Rd. in Huntingtown for a reported theft. Three heat pumps were damaged and dismantled. Piping inside the heat pumps was stolen. Investigation continues.

THEFT: On 1/2012/2012 at 7:45 pm, Trooper First Class Logsdon responded to the 4400 block of Diane Court in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. A computer, printer and CD player were removed from the residence. Investigation continues.

ASSAULT, DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 1/14/2012 at 1:02 am, Trooper Matthews was patrolling Route 261 in the area of 1st street in North Beach when he observed what appeared to be a fight in the street in front of Neptune's Bar and Grill. While questioning the parties involved, Stephan M. Whitehurst, Jr., 22 of Chesapeake Beach began yelling profanity and was intoxicated. He was arrested for disorderly conduct. Investigation revealed that Frederick R. Abner 2nd, 22 of Chesapeake Beach, assaulted a Neptune's employee when the employee asked Abner and Whitehurst to leave for acting disorderly inside the bar. Abner was arrested for assault. Both were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: On 1/14/2012 at 8:03 pm, Trooper First Class Hunt responded to Howlin Concrete in Dunkirk for an alarm. A lock on a connex box was cut in an attempted burglary. Investigation continues.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 1/16/2012 at 9:30 am, Trooper First Class Parker responded to the Bank of America in Lusby after being informed by a concerned citizen that a window was broken at the bank. Unknown suspect(s) broke the window, but did not gain entry. Investigation continues.
