MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (February 28, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, February 23 at 11:00am, TFC B. T. Wiesemann served two outstanding Bench Warrants (T3-15316 / T3-15317) on Charles Alexander Plater, 25, of Lexington Park. The warrants were issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on January 17. The original charges were Driving Without A Required License and Fraud Per Identification to Avoid Prosecution. Mr. Plater was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served on both warrants and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, February 23 at 4:00pm, TFC N. E. Gresko conducted a traffic stop on a Buick passenger vehicle in the area of Lawrence Street and Maryland Route 5 in Leonardtown for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the operator Jermaine Yadell Short, 22, of Mechanicsville whom was identified by a provided name and date of birth. Mr. Short was asked to exit the vehicle to observe the violation in question. While attempting to locate the vehicle registration from the passenger side of the vehicle, TFC Gresko observed a plastic bag fall from Mr. Short's person. Mr. Short was immediately detained and the fallen item recovered. Located in the bag was CDS - Not Marijuana. Subsequently, Mr. Short was arrested for Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana. Additionally, the MVA query on the Mr. Short's information revealed that his driving privileges were suspended. Mr. Short was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Thursday, February 23 at 7:37pm, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling responded to the 45000 block of Alton Lane in California for a reported fight in progress. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 16, of Lexington Park who advised he was performing work duties when he was struck in the face by another individual. The suspect in the incident was involved in an altercation with the complainant previously reported. Information provided by the complainant and a witness, resulted in Tpr. Reuschling responding to the 22000 block of Deerpath Court in Great Mills to make contact with the suspect. Upon arrival, contact was made with the suspect, a juvenile male, 16, of Great Mills and his guardian. The juvenile was informed of the investigation and charged with Second Degree Assault. He was released on scene to his guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, February 23 at 7:50pm, TFC E. J. Page served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-15357) on Jacob Roy Wilkins, 19, of Charlotte Hall. The warrant was issued on February 6 by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant was issued with an original charge of 2nd Degree Child Abuse as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment. Mr. Wilkins turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, February 23 at 9:30pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-15334) on Ronald Dewight Young, 43, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Mr. Young's arrest on January 25 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Young was located on a traffic stop in the area of Columbus Drive in Lexington Park. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, February 23 at 9:15pm, TFC S. M. Van Bennekum served a Bench Warrant (T3-15370) on Jennifer G. Labonowski, 28, of La Plata. The warrant was issued on February 10 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving While Impaired by Alcohol While Transporting a Minor. Ms. Labonowski was located on a call for service in Charles County. Taken into custody on a detainer, Ms. Labonowski was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Saturday, February 25 at 12:29am, TFC M. A. Moore responded to the 43000 block of Joy Lane in Hollywood for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with Elizabeth Annecatherine Combs, 47, of Hollywood. Ms. Combs provided TFC Moore with an account of the situation advising she had been struck while involved in an altercation. TFC Moore than made contact with a male complainant, 44, of Hollywood. An account of the incident was provided by the complainant and two additional witnesses. Based on all accounts provided and physical evidence observed, Ms. Combs was placed under arrest for Second Degree Assault. Ms. Combs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, February 25 at 6:45pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-15389) on Stephen Gore Uhler, II, 44, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued on February 22 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Theft Less Than $1000.00 Value. Mr. Uhler was located on a traffic stop in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Lincoln Avenue in Lexington Park. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center, where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, February 27 at 12:59am, TFC M. A. Moore served a Bench Warrant (T3-15146) on Orlando Litpaul Berry, 38, of District Heights. The warrant was issued for Mr. Berry's arrest on September 22, 2011 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving While Impaired by Alcohol and Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Berry was located in the 45000 block of North Springsteen Court in Lexington Park. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, February 27 at 5:40pm, TFC G. A. Thompson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15383) on Drew Ryan Greer, 20, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued on February 22 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Greer turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
