Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (May 21, 2012)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of May 7-13, deputies responded to 1,406 calls for service throughout the community.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown suspect(s) spray painted on the brick at the rear of Huntingtown High School sometime between May 17 at 10:20 p.m. and May 18 at 1:08 a.m. DFC V. Evans is investigating.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: An unlocked vehicle outside a home on Sailor Court in Lusby was entered overnight between May 17 and 18 and a jacket and other items were taken. The jacket was later recovered in the street by a neighbor. Dep. R. Kampf is investigating.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Unknown person(s) removed property from a vehicle parked outside a home on Stock Drive in Lusby sometime between May 17 and 18. A neighbor located items belonging to the victim along the roadway. The owner of the vehicle was not on the scene to advise if anything else was taken. Cpl. M. Naecker is investigating.

BURGLARY: On May 18 at 4:45 p.m. Dep. M. Quinn arrested William Allen Carter, 46 of Prince Frederick, and charged him with burglary and theft after Carter was observed burglarizing a home in the 1000 block of Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick by a neighbor. The home owner was notified and given a description of Carter's vehicle. The home owner then observed the vehicle near Arby's restaurant and called police. Carter was in possession of $1700 worth of stolen items.

DRUG ARREST: On May 21 at 1:41 a.m. Dep. J. Migliaccio conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Old Solomons Island Road at W. Chesapeake Beach Road in Owings. He found the driver, identified as Gregory Louis Mercilliott, 45 of Dunkirk, to have an open warrant through Anne Arundel County. Mercilliott was found to be in possession of suspected drugs and was arrested and charged with possession of oxycodone and possession of cocaine. The passenger in the car, Charles Dewitt Hoffman, III, 43 of Chesapeake Beach, was also arrested. He was charged with possession of morphine and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, 2 glass pipe smoking devices.
