LEONARDTOWN, Md. (May 29, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) has released the following incident and arrest reports.

CHECKPOINT: A cooperative effort between the Maryland State Police and the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office led to a sobriety checkpoint that was conducted at MD Route 234 at Horseshoe Road in Chaptico. The operation was conducted between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm Monday evening. 405 vehicles were checked during the operation. The Checkpoint was manned by 10 State Troopers and 4 St. Mary's County Sheriff's Deputies.

During the Checkpoint, 3 motorists were pulled to the side for additional field sobriety testing, however, there were no arrests. Also utilized during the operation were 2 License Plate Reader cars, which resulted in several "hits," but no arrests.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, May 24 at 11:30pm, TFC A. J. Malaspina served a Bench Warrant (T3-14494) on Dexter Allen Gantt, 25, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Mr. Gantt's arrest on July 1, 2010 with an original charge of CDS Possession - Marijuana / Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mr. Gantt was located on a traffic stop and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, May 25 at 1:05am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton served a Bench Warrant (T3-15296) on James Franklin Howell, 44, of California. The warrant was issued on January 4 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended Out of State License. Mr. Howell was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, May 26 at 3:05pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-15517) on Alexandra Spencer Barnes, 55, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Mr. Barnes arrest on May 25 by with an original charge Driving Under the Influence by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Barnes was located in the 21000 block of Prather Drive in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, May 27 at 10:55am, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling served a Bench Warrant (T3-15516) on Terrikia Lanise Banks, 29, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Ms. Banks' arrest on May 24 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Ms. Banks was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center after being located at the St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, May 29 at 3:45am, TFC R. L. Jackson served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15519) on Amanda Renea Wedding, 26, of an Unknown Fixed Address. The warrant was issued for Ms. Wedding's arrest on May 22 by the District Court of Calvert County with an original charge of Fraud - Per Identification to Avoid Prosecution. Ms. Wedding was located in the 46000 block of Orchid Lane. She was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, May 29 at 10:45am, TFC G. A. Thompson served an outstanding Bench Warrant (T3-15489) on Joseph William Bowles, 23, of Hollywood. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving Without A Required License on May 2 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Bowles was located at the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
