PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (May 31, 2012)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of May 21-27, deputies responded to 1,544 calls for service throughout the community.
THEFT: A 30-year-old man was charged with theft after witnesses saw him steal a purse off the counter at the Prince Frederick 7-11 convenience store on May 21 at 1:20 p.m. Cpl. R. Wilson responded to the store and was directed to the Prince Frederick shopping center where the suspect was last seen. Two citizens were standing around a subject who matched the description given by the victim. Wilson questioned the subject and subsequently arrested Jay Wainwright, 30 of Landover. The purse and its' contents were located and returned to the victim.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Overnight between May 20 and 21 unknown person(s) broke into a locked vehicle on Ash Lane in Lusby, stealing coins and a gold bracelet valued together at over $4600. DFC C. Johnson is investigating.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Two white males were observed rummaging through the interior of a vehicle parked outside a home on Park Circle in St. Leonard at 2:30 a.m. on May 21. The homeowner reports that he observed the two men, who fled when they noticed him. A wallet containing $25 and a cell phone battery were stolen. The battery was later located in the roadway. DFC J. Parsons is continuing the investigation.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Two black Samsung Smartphones were stolen from inside two unlocked vehicles parked outside a home on Overlook Drive in St. Leonard overnight between May 20 and 21. Three ID cards were stolen from inside a vehicle parked on Overlook Drive overnight May 20-21. DFC J. Parsons is investigating.
THEFT: Someone stole nine green metal flowerpots with "Primetime Daycare" painted on them from the center on May 22. The pots are valued at $200. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC D. Deakins at 410-535-2800.
DRUG ARREST: On May 22 at 4:54 p.m. Dep. J. Migliaccio responded to the area of Md. Rt. 4 at Parran Road for the report of a motor vehicle crash. A motorist advised that a white van had hit the rear of her vehicle and then took off at a high rate of speed. Multiple calls from citizens came in reporting that a white van was seen driving all over the roadway. Dep. J. Hardesty located the suspect van and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, later identified as Mark Alan Robb, 33 of Hughesville, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, folded paper with drug residue.
THEFT FROM VEHICLE: A victim reported to Dep. M. Quinn that on May 23 at around noon, she parked her vehicle at the Dunkirk Park, next to the playground. When she returned to her vehicle, the passenger window was broken out and her purse had been stolen. The victim's bank advised that two of her credit cards had been used at the Dunkirk CVS. The suspects were videotaped using the cards at the CVS. Dep. Quinn is continuing the investigation.
DRUG ARREST: Three people were arrested for CDS violations on May 24 at 8:43 p.m. in Port Republic after DFC J. Bell conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle they were riding in. The driver, Joshua Lewis Wood, 20 of St. Leonard, was arrested and charged with possession of percocet in sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of percocet and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a silver smoking pipe. A passenger, Megan Dawn Scully, 19 of Lusby, was arrested and charged with possession of percocet and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, straws. A second passenger, Jessica Lorene Hensley, 21 of Prince Frederick, was arrested and charged with possession of xanax.
DRUG ARREST: After stopping a driver for not wearing a seatbelt during a seatbelt enforcement check on May 25 at 6:52 p.m. in Chesapeake Beach, Dep. C. Fox found the driver to be in possession of suspected drugs. He arrested Steven Keith Northern, 27 of Chesapeake Beach, and charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana in sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to distribute.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Several mailboxes and light fixtures were damaged overnight between May 26 and 27 on Shields Drive and Uncle Charlie's Spur in Dunkirk amounting to at least $1900 in damage. Dep. J. Migliaccio is investigating.
DRUG ARREST: On May 26 at 5:16 p.m. DFC J. Norton conducted a traffic stop at Md. Rt. 261 and 17th Street in Chesapeake Beach and arrested the driver, Bridget Rae Cram, 30 of Huntingtown, and charged her with disorderly conduct, failure to obey a law enforcement officer, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, a hypodermic needle, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, two baggies.
