LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 6, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT UNDER $100: On Friday, June 1 at 9:28pm, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling responded to the Food Lion in Lexington Park for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with an employee of the store that advised a female suspect, later identified as Victoria Lynn Bryant, 46, of Lexington Park entered the store with an empty open purse. Upon attempting to exit the store it was observed that Ms. Bryant's purse contained more items than it did upon entering. One item was noticeably sticking out of the bag and was identified as a product of the store. As Ms. Bryant exited the store, Loss Prevention made contact; however, Ms. Bryant fled the scene in a black passenger vehicle. Tpr. Reuschling observed surveillance footage of the incident, and was able to send an additional unit to the registered owner of the passenger vehicle residence. Ms. Bryant was located at the residence and matched the image of the female committing the theft in the video. Upon responding to the 21000 block of North Essex Drive, Tpr. Reuschling made contact with Ms. Bryant regarding the theft. Ms. Bryant followed Tpr. Reuschling back to the Food Lion where she was positively identified by a witness. Ms. Bryant was arrested for Theft Less Than $100.00 and issued a Criminal Citation with a mandatory court date prior to being released from the scene.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, June 2 at 10:11am, Tpr. W. A. Couter was participating in a stationary stopping team in the area of Hermanville Road and Dixon Court in Lexington Park when a white Buick was observed in violation of a traffic law and was subsequently flagged down for a traffic stop. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the operator Terry Eugene Bailey, Jr., 27, of Lexington Park. While speaking with Mr. Bailey, Tpr. Couter detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A Probable Cause search of the vehicle and Mr. Bailey was conducted as a result of this observation. Located in Mr. Bailey's front pocket was CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. He was immediately arrested for Possession, additionally, the search of the vehicle revealed CDS in a cigarette box in the center console area of the vehicle. Mr. Bailey was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, June 3 at 12:00am, TFC E. R. Mersman responded to the area of Maryland Route 235 and Mount Zion Church Road in Mechanicsville for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Once in the area, TFC Mersman observed a vehicle matching the description provided by the St. Mary's County Emergency Communications Center. TFC Mersman observed the vehicle prior to conducting a traffic stop in the area of Clover Hill Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with Judith Carol Holt, 50, of Huntingtown, who appeared in a daze. TFC Mersman had Ms. Holt exit the vehicle and perform a standardized field sobriety test which she was unsuccessful in passing. Ms. Holt was subsequently arrested, prior to being transported from the scene, Ms. Holt asked for specific items out of the vehicle. Her request for the items was not immediately granted, as there was a canine in the vehicle that prevented TFC Mersman from retrieving the items. An additional unit standing by for Animal Control advised the items would be transported to the Leonardtown Barrack once Animal Control cleared the scene. Ms. Holt was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack where she was processed; upon custody being taken of the personal belongings she requested an inventory was conducted revealing that within the wallet was CDS - Not Marijuana. Ms. Holt was additionally charged with the Possession of the CDS and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was processed and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 4 at 12:15pm, TFC E. M. Evans served two outstanding Warrants (T3-15522 / T3-15527) on Jonathan Albert Anderson, 22, of an Unknown Fixed Address. The Arrest Warrant (T3-15522) was issued for Mr. Anderson's arrest on May 27 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. The Bench Warrant (T3-15527) was issued on May 31 with an original charge of Con - Robbery by the District Court of St. Mary's County. He was located at the Department of Parole and Probation in Leonardtown and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Anderson was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
