St. Charles Towne Center welcomes new and renovated stores

WALDORF—St. Charles Towne Center mall management announced the recent additions of rue21, Olive Olé and Ruby Thai Kitchen as well as the renovation and expansion of Victoria’s Secret and Phone Repair Lab to its retail mix.

“We are thrilled to welcome these new and renovated stores,” said Laurie VanDalen, Mall Manager at St. Charles Towne Center. “Our goal is to continually provide the best mix of stores for our shoppers, and these additions help St. Charles Towne Center continue that commitment to better serve the Waldorf community with an enhanced and ever-growing roster of retailers.”

rue21, which opened its new store on April 30 next to Sears, is a leading specialty retailer offering the hottest and latest fashion for young men and women. Known for providing on-trend fashion, quality and value, rue21 features a wide selection of dresses, tops, jeans, shoes, accessories and more at an affordable price with new items arriving daily.

Olive Olé, an up-and-coming women’s retailer that focuses trendy and affordable fashion straight from New York and Los Angeles, is set to open its store in mid-May near Sears and Men’s Wearhouse and Tux. Olive Olé features a wide variety of clothes in junior and plus sizes, accessories and shoes with new options added on a regular basis to match everyday trends.

Now located in the food court, Ruby Thai Kitchen offers exotic cuisine with flavors and spices found mainly in Thai dishes. Hungry shoppers can enjoy a variety of menu items, including Green Curry, Red Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, Green Mango Salad and more.

Victoria’s Secret, the largest American retailer of lingerie, has completed its renovations and relocated back to its original space on the lower level near Macy’s. The specialty retailer’s newly expanded space offers shoppers a wide selection of intimate apparel, lingerie, sleepwear, hosiery and more.

Phone Repair Lab, a one-stop-shop for all cell phone issues, has opened its space in its new location on the lower level between JC Penney and Kohl's. Phone Repair Lab offers a variety of services, including same-day fixes and unlocks for most models of smart phones, tablets and gaming consoles, as well as purchase of slightly used cell phones and more.

Dr. Reshma Khetpal joins Cancer & Blood Disorders Treatment Center in Waldorf

WALDORF—Dr. Reshma Khetpal, Board Certified Physician, has joined Cancer & Blood Disorders Treatment Center. Dr. Khetpal will be providing cancer treatment to patients from around Southern Maryland at the center's location in Waldorf. She is also the first female Oncologist & Hematologist to provide treatment in Charles County.

"Compassionate patient care and utilization of the latest available techniques available towards the betterment of the patient care has been my only goal throughout my journey in medical school, residency, fellowship and now as a trained Hematologist and Oncologist," Dr. Khetpal said about providing treatment for patients at Cancer and Blood Disorders Treatment Center.

Dr. Khetpal completed her residency at Providence Hospital, an affiliate of George Washington University Hospital. She completed her fellowship in Oncology and Hematology at the University of Arkansas. She has published several articles, most notably for her research on Predictability of Wells Score for the diagnosis of Acute Pulmonary Embolism.

Cancer & Blood Disorders Treatment Center was founded by Dr. Meelu twenty years ago in 1995. Their office is located at 3200 Crain Highway, Suite 302 in Waldorf.

Local business owners recognized as nation’s top Sport Clips Haircuts franchisee at National Huddle

LAS VEGAS—Jeff Burroughs and Robyn Hanson, of Huntingtown, Md., were recognized as Sport Clips Haircuts’ top team leaders (franchisees) in the US and Canada at the franchise’s recent National Huddle in Las Vegas. The couple - who owns seven locations across Maryland, five of which are located in Southern Maryland - was recognized with the award for exemplifying the company’s values and maintaining overall strong store metrics.
