LA PLATA, Md. (July 11, 2016)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

UPDATE ON DEATH INVESTIGATION: Charles County Sheriff's detectives have identified the man who was found deceased in a vehicle at the Wawa in White Plains last Thursday as Timothy Akers, 47, of White Plains. On July 7 at 1:52 p.m., officers responded to the Wawa at 4210 Crain Highway in White Plains for the report of an unconscious male in a car. The vehicle was locked and the engine was running. Entry was gained, and first responders initiated CPR; however, the man was deceased. There were no obvious signs of foul play nor any signs of illegal substances. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore performed an autopsy. Autopsy results are pending, and the investigation is continuing.

ASSAULT ON CORRECTIONAL OFFICER: On July 10 at approximately 1 p.m. at the Charles County Detention Center, a male corrections officer was in the process of moving inmate Jordan Montre Hall, 23, of Waldorf, to a different cell when Hall became combative and assaulted the officer. As the officer attempted to gain control, the two fell and the officer struck a bench, causing injuries to his face and knees. The officer was transported to a hospital for treatment, and Hall was charged with assault.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On July 10 at approximately 4:31 a.m., officers responded to a store located in the 10000 block of Berry Road in Waldorf for an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers found the front door open and an ATM machine damaged. The building was searched for suspects or additional damage, but none were located. While the officers were still on the scene, they heard an alarm coming from a carwash at a nearby shopping center. Officers responded and found that the vacuum machines as well as a vending machine had been pried open. No suspects were located on the scene.

Surveillance footage from the location of the first alarm showed an older red Jeep Cherokee enter the parking lot from Berry Road and pull to the side of the building. Two suspects, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, blue jeans, and gloves, got out of the vehicle, approached the front door, and appeared to pull it open. They entered the store and forced open the top of the ATM located next to the counter, but were unable to gain access to the ATM's vault. The suspects left the store without taking anything. Officer M. Hunt and PFC R. Gass are investigating.

BURGLARY: Sometime between the hours of 6:10 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. on July 8, unknown suspect(s) entered a residence in the 1500 block of Marshall Hall Road in Bryans Road and stole jewelry from the victim's bedroom. Cpl. C. Walter is investigating.

THEFT OF RIMS AND TIRES: Between July 7 and July 8, during the overnight hours, someone stole four rims and tires from a Nissan Rogue in the 3400 block of Linden Grove Drive in Waldorf. M/Cpl J. Freeman is investigating.
