3 Adults, 2 Toddlers Injured in Waldorf Crash Saturday

Police seeking eye witnesses

LA PLATA, Md. (Sept. 6, 2016)—Police in Charles County report a serious crash occurred on Saturday, Sept. 2, shortly before midnight on St. Charles Parkway near North Gate Drive in Waldorf. In the crash, three adults were critically injured, and two toddlers were rescued and treated for serious wounds.

According to the Waldorf VFD, first arriving CCSO units found 2 patients had been ejected, a third patient trapped with the vehicle on fire and 2 pediatric patients in the car. CCSO Immediately removed the two pediatric patients to a "safe zone" began basic first aid, and attempts to hold the fire at bay with the use of fire extinguishers were implemented. Squad 3 and 32 arrived, extinguishing the fire and extricating the trapped subject.

All five patients were flown as priority patients by Trooper 2, 7, and Eagle 1 to Medstar and Children's Hospital Center.
