McDonald's to Close Pax River Restaurant Nov. 18

PATUXENT RIVER, Md. (Oct. 28, 2016)—McDonalds #146, located at Cedar Point Road adjacent to the Drill Hall, will officially cease operations at NAS Patuxent River Friday, Nov. 18.

"McDonald's is closing based on results of their business analysis," explained Kathyln Daughrity, NEX general manager. "This is based on their own metrics, which they have honed over many decades."

Other dining options on base include Subway; Seawings Café located in Building 2272; the NEX Main Store food court, which includes Sbarro, Rice King, and RK Café; and Myra's New Orleans food truck, located at Building 2187 Tuesday-Thursday and every other Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Daughrity also noted that the Main Store food court will undergo a renovation in the future which will include three more eateries—Jake's Wayback, a coffee concept and an additional concept.

"At this time, there are no plans to replace the McDonald's building with another food operation," Daughrity said.
