Lexington Park Library. This is just a calendar event to gauge interest in trying to start a fighting game scene in southern maryland (specifically the lower saint mary's county area). I know the DMV has a topic on SRK, but we're a little too south to be holding casuals in Richmond/DC, and many don't want to travel very far for a local tournament. Games that I typically play include:

Street Fighter 4: AE 2012 Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Mortal Kombat 9 Tekken 6 King of Fighters 13

If you are interested and early Friday nights work well for you, then email me at jmsmithwv@gmail.com to show you've got some interest. Unless we can get a decent group of at least 6-8 minimum that regularly come, then it isn't work my time. However, if we can get that many people going at a minimum, then I think we can start some basic ranbats or whatever. Currently I think we would meet at the Lexington Park library and take it from there. I've got enough equipment for one setup, so we'll need others to bring setups as well (tvs, systems, sticks, games, etc.)

Moores Driving Academy, Mechanicsville. Did you get a new Marine GPS for Christmas? Do you want to learn how to use it? You should take the GPS for Mariners course that the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will present at Moore's Driving Academy, Mechanicsville, MD. The three-session course will run from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday February 11, 18 and 25.

Lessons will include interpretation of nautical charts, GPS System overview, finding your position using GPS, navigating using waypoints and routes, GPS alarms, Man Overboard functions, and system interconnections

Each student will receive the GPS for Mariners textbook to retain for future reference.

Because this course is tailored to the GPS units owned by the students, preregistration is required. Registration deadline is Saturday, February 4.

Calvert High School Auditorium. SoMD CAN College Access Network is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the college-going rate of high school graduates in Southern Maryland. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a universally used financial aid application to determine a family's financial need for their children's college education. The FAFSA Line by Line is a seminar that will take parents of seniors and seniors in high school through the process of filling out the FAFSA literally line by line.
