Thomas Wayne Hutchins, 60, of Prince Frederick, Maryland passed away on October 11, 2006 at his home. Born in Prince Frederick on July 18, 1946 to the late Thomas Sewell and Florence Hardesty Hutchins, Wayne spent his whole life in Prince Frederick. He always said, "I'm a farmer's son, never been nothing fancy."

He worked in Hardesty's grocery store, where there was an old time kerosene stove that always had farmers around telling stories. He sold a lot of canned peas. He retired from Safeway after 33 years where he was the Dairy Department manager.

He was a NASCAR fan especially cheering # 8, Dale Ernhardt Jr. He also enjoyed the Redskins and the Orioles. He was a member of the Prince Frederick Masonic Lodge #142 since 1985.

He is survived by his wife Carol Ann Hutchins, and children, Thomas Wayne, Jr. and his girlfriend Bobbi Jo, of Prince Frederick, Matthew Brian of Lusby, Douglas Shannon Hutchins, and his fiancée Kathy of Pasadena MD, and Kathryn Eileen Jones and her husband Bobby of St. Leonard, Brother of Josie Schuster of Lothian Md., he is also survived by nine grandchildren, six nieces and nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by sisters Lucille Dalrymple and Betty Morris.

The family received friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, Port Republic, MD. on Friday October 13, 2OO6 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral services were held on Saturday October 14, 2006, 11 A.M. at Waters Memorial United Methodist Church, St. Leonard, MD. Interment followed in Asbury Cemetery, Barstow, MD. Pallbearers were Thomas Wayne Hutchins, Jr., Matthew Brian Hutchins, Douglas Shannon Hutchins, Bobby Jones, Gerald Sterner and David Hutchins.
