Dorothy "Dabu" Weist, age 87, of La Plata, Maryland passed away on June 19, 2019. Dorothy was born in Coaldale, Pennsylvania. She was retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. where she was an auditor. She was a devoted Catholic who loved to read, crochet, and knit and every year looked forward to vacations at the beach. In their early years together, you would find her and her husband taking a spin on the dance floor to polka music. More recently, they spent their time together cheering on the Washington Capitals and Nationals as she kept track of all the stats. She was a die-hard Redskins fan and also enjoyed playing cards. She was known to tell the best stories. No one could replace her time and joy she received from her granddaughters and great grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Anthony and Mary Paslawsky. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her first husband, Michael Hazer; her brothers, Daniel Paslawsky and Joseph Paslawsky; her sisters, Anna Bujnovsky, Mary Dirnberger, and Olga Yusko; her son-in-law, Robert Ryan; and her great-great grandson, Hunter Hale. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Joseph Weist; her daughter, Sharon Ryan; her grandchildren, Alicia (Matt) Hancock and Christine (Joseph) Heckman; her great grandchildren, Blake Hancock, Carter (Travis Hale) Heckman, Nathan Heckman, and Grant Heckman; her great-great granddaughter, Ryder Hale; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 9:30AM-11AM at St. Ignatius-Chapel Point Catholic Church, 8855 Chapel Point Road, Port Tobacco, Maryland 20677.
