Harold Wallace Toder, 72, of Welcome, Maryland, passed away at home on November 1, 2019. Born on April 4, 1947 in Port Jefferson Station, New York, he was the son of the late Lena Dorothy Cowan Toder and George Daniel Toder Jr. Mr. Toder served in the U. S. Army during Vietnam with the First Infantry Division (The Big Red One) before being Honorably Discharged in 1968.

He started as a carpenter and then went back to college and got his degree in construction management and spent the rest of his career as a construction manager. His knowledge as a carpenter carried over to woodworking as a hobby. Mr. Toder also was a private airplane pilot, owning a couple of planes and operating Blue Sky Aviation school at Hyde Field in Clinton. He was a member of the American Legion, the Disable American Veterans (DAV), the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the National Rifle Association (NRA). Mr. Toder also enjoyed reading non-fiction, historical and biographical books, cruising in his '67 Chevrolet Corvette, watching NASCAR and being with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie L. Toder; son James D. "Jim" Toder; granddaughters Chloe and Sophie Toder; brother George S. "Sam" Toder; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 4PM until time of service at 6PM at Raymond Funeral Service, P.A., 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charles County, 5305 Davis Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20603 or to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), P. O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio 45205-0301.
