Edward E. Ray, III, 64, of Leonardtown, Maryland, formerly of Mayo, died at his home October 10, 2006.

A General Contractor, he was owner of Edward E. Ray Company Inc. and Classic Kitchen and Bath.

Mr. Ray was born in Washington, DC, and moved to Mayo in 1955. He graduated from Annapolis High School, attended Bridgewater College in VA and Columbia Tech for architectural drawing.

Mr. Ray was a member of NRA, NKBA, NAHB, and Elks #622 of Annapolis. He was a past member of the West River Yacht Club. Boats, fishing and hunting were his passion. He also excelled in landscaping and helping friends remodel their homes.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years Linda Shawn Ray, three children Douglas Ray and wife Robin, Jeffrey Ray, Suzanne Ray and husband John, and three step children, Allan Rankin, Dawn Shiefk, Sherry Parkinson and husband George, and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Harry K. Rinker and his wife Verna. Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his parents Edward E and Nellie H. Ray, and a brother J. H. Rinker.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, Maryland 20650.
