Kimberly Dawn Kragh, age 37, of Indian Head, Maryland died on June 22, 2019 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. Kimberly was the daughter of David Anthony Hayden, Sr. and Pamela Sue Clark Hayden and was the wife of Justin Kragh.

Visitation on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with a Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11AM at Holy Ghost Issue Catholic Church, 15848 Rock Point Road, Newburg, Maryland 20664 with Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Sylvia "Jean" Alvey, 79, of Leonardtown, MD passed away on June 21, 2019 at home with family by her side. Jean was born at home on November 15, 1939 to the late Mary Eva Hazel Alvey and James Leach Alvey of Leonardtown, MD. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Leonard Jackson Alvey and great great nephew Calvin Oliver Emmart. She is survived by her aunt Mary Cusic of Compton, MD, sister in law Lois Ann Alvey of Leonardtown, MD , four nieces and nephews Ronald Stephen Alvey, Sr. (Denise) of Avenue, MD, Anne Marie Alvey of California, MD, Barbara Jean Emmart (Mike) of Mechanicsville, MD , Edward Wayne Alvey of Hollywood, MD, 8 great nieces and nephews, and 12 great great nieces and nephews.

Following graduation from St. Mary's Academy in 1957 Jean worked at the Frist National Bank of St. Mary's in Leonardtown, MD for 7 years in the bookkeeping department. In 1964, she joined the FBI as a fingerprint examiner and retired in 1994 as a Supervisory Fingerprint Examiner.

Jean led a "truly contented" generous life, enjoying her work, traveling the east coast with great friends from Florida to Canada and especially enjoyed New England in the fall. Her hobbies included woodworking, painting, crocheting, crabbing, and spending time with family.

Jean was always available to friends and family to drive them to and from shopping, medical appointments, the airport or whatever they needed. She crocheted countless afghans for the nursing home, purchased boxes of food and toiletries for Helping Hands, was the unofficial photographer at any event she attended, helped friends, and neighbors by cutting their grass, and shared her eternal optimism with everyone she met.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private.

DeLaVergne, William Howard, Jr.

William "Bill" Harold DeLaVergne Jr., age 87, passed away on Thurs, June 20, 2019 at his home in Port Republic, MD. Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA on Dec. 1, 1931, but lived most of his childhood in Washington D.C. with parents William H. DeLaVergne and Ann McGuinn. After graduating from McKinley Tech high school, he attended Catholic University before enlisting in the Navy for 4 years during the Korean War. After the service he graduated with a BA in Journalism from George Washington University.

Bill worked in private industry in the D.C. metro area before joining the U.S. Postal Service communications group in the late 1970s. He retired to the Northern Neck of Virginia in 1996, before moving to Maryland in 2017. Where ever Bill lived, he was a terrific neighbor; helpful, sociable, and kind hearted to all. He was first married to Elizabeth "Betty" Lacey in 1957. Betty passed away in May 1994, leaving surviving children Marc DeLaVergne and Leslie DeLaVergne. Bill remarried in December 1996 to his high school sweet-heart, H. Collette Brooks Kells. Collette passed away in December 2016.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service following at 6:00 p.m. for Bill at the Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD. Bill will be buried at Washington National Cemetery at a future date. Bill is survived by son Marc DeLaVergne, daughter in law Cheri DeLaVergne, daughter Leslie DeLaVergne Downs, son in law William Downs, granddaughters Glynnis Downs Jeffrey and Gillian Downs, great grandchildren Alex and Ashlynn Jeffrey, step daughter Paige Kells and her husband Mark Hendricks, sister Helen Ridgeway, niece Christine Ridgeway, sister Patricia DeLaVergne Quinn, brother in law William Quinn, the Quinn family, and the extended DeLaVergne family.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Henry Noyes, Jr. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home in Huntingtown, MD. He set sail for calmer seas and sunnier shores. Bill was born on October 10, 1929 in Mystic, CT to William H. Sr. and Alice Noyes.

Nearly all of his 89 years were spent in service to the community, his family, and his country. As an ordnanceman in the United States Navy throughout North Africa during the Korean War; as a ship builder in Groton, CT building the first nuclear powered submarine, the USS Nautilus; as an electrical engineer in Washington, DC developing infrared chemical detectors where he retired from the United States government after 36 years earning the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal; as public educator, qualified coxswain, former flotilla commander, division officer, and vessel examiner with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary; as father of five and "Binky" to 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Our ship feels adrift today, but we will keep his humor, stories, and light alive through his wife of 38 years, Maxine [Barber] Noyes, children, Wendy and Eric Edstrom, Darrell Noyes, Pamela and Philip Mazza, Glenn and Dawn Noyes, Megan Noyes, and Joselyn Noyes, six grandsons, six granddaughters, seven great-grandsons, and nine great-granddaughters.

Family invites friends to Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, July 1 from 10 am until start of Memorial Services at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623 at 1:45 pm.
