Linda Lee Beauverd, 93, of Tall Timbers, MD died on February 11, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on May 25, 1926, in Oakland, CA to Herbert Leslie Burgess and Adelaide Marie Lind Burgess.

On April 13, 1946, Linda married her beloved husband, Arthur "Buddy" Beauverd, Jr. in Bethesda, MD. Together they celebrated over 67 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in February 2014.

Linda is survived by her sons, Bruce L. "Skip" Beauverd (Barbara) of Tall Timbers, MD, and Arthur A. "Bud" Beauverd III of Mechanicsburg, PA; her sister, Nancy Jean Dessez of Knoxville, TN; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. "Buddy" Beauverd, Jr.

Linda was an extremely talented quilt maker and knitter producing garments enjoyed by her family and friends. Along with her husband, she delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years and instructed many groups on guided tours of St. Marys City. Linda mentored children at Piney Point Elementary school and taught catechism at St. Georges Catholic Church. Her strong spiritual faith nurtured her keen concern for other people's wellbeing and feelings. She nurtured her extended family's harmony by holiday visits and hosting summer gatherings.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church, 19199 St. George's Church Road, Valley Lee, MD 20692. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Paul Nguyen at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Bruce Beauverd, Jr., Ivan Beauverd, Chris Beauverd, Nick Beauverd, Easton Beauverd, and Arthur Beauverd IV. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and Second District Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box, Valley Lee, MD 20692. Rose Helen Pierce, age 78, of Waldorf, Maryland, died February 11, 2020 at Genesis La Plata Center. Rose was a self-employed day care provider for 25 years and was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, Maryland. She was one of the most fearless women ever known. She loved her family, Redskins, and chocolate eclairs. She was also a beautiful mom, hero, and teacher who taught about God, love and grace, forgiveness, and patience. Family was truly blessed to have an angel like her to watch over them.

She was the daughter of Charles E. Simpkins and Dorothy L. Dyer. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Milton Pierce, Sr.; her brothers, Buddy Simpkins, Danny Simpkins, and Dale Dyer; and her sisters, Joyce Simpkins and Vera Simpkins. She is survived by her sons, Johnny Pierce, Derren Pierce, and David Pierce; her daughters, Gail Sue Loving and Cindy Euzent; her brother, Robbie Dyer; and her sister, Joann Lewis. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 9:30AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, 100 Village Street, Waldorf, Maryland 20602. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memorial & Honor Program), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942.

Carol Lynn Kirkland, 65, of Waldorf, MD passed away February 10, 2020 at George Washington University Hospital. Born on October 24, 1954 in Washington, D.C., Carol was the daughter of Joseph F. Davis and Mary Emma Bresnahan. Carol was raised in Prince George's County along with her four siblings, and was a graduate of Suitland High School. She called Waldorf, MD home since 1992, and worked as a paralegal for the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C. for ten years. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, going out to the casino, socializing with her friends, and helping others.

Carol is survived by her son Tim M. Kirkland (Dawn) of Bryantown, MD, her daughter Janiece Gordon of Mechanicsville, MD, grandchildren Camryn Elizabeth Shall, Ryder Patrick Kirkland, and Davis Hayes Kirkland, sister Gertrude "Trudy" Perry of Stafford, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary, her brothers, James "Jimmy" and Joseph Davis, and sister Mary Ann Shifflette. Arrangements by Rausch Funeral Home.

Francis A. Gragan, 80, of La Plata, MD passed away on February 10, 2020. Born in St. Mary's County on March 23, 1939 to the late George and Anna Gragan, He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary "Dolly" Gragan; son David K. Gragan; brother Paul Gragan and sisters, Jean Hart, Ann Campbell and Diane Raley. Francis leaves behind his daughter, Sharon Essert; son, Bryan Gragan; Brothers, Aubrey Gragan, Carroll Gragan and Danny Gragan; sisters, Emma Wilkerson and Mary Hill; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Francis was employed by A& P Food Stores and Superfresh for 25 years. Upon retiring, he worked at Laurel Springs Park in park maintenance. Francis enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs, working on cars, hunting, and taking his boat out on the Potomac. He passed away surrounded by his loving family and will be greatly missed. Services are Private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
