George Leroy DeMarr, Jr., 62, died on November 19, 2021, at his home in White Plains, MD. He was born on January 20, 1959, in Washington, D.C., to the late George Leroy DeMarr, Sr., and Mary Estelle (Richards) DeMarr. He is survived by his children: George Calvin DeMarr (Kristy), Cassie May Marshburn (Kristopher) and Shelby Gwenn DeMarr (Nick); grandchildren: Aiden, Callie, Wyatt and Maci Marshburn and Austin, Jacob and Taylor Knott; his sister Phyllis Ann Atkinson; nephews, Robert and William Atkinson; and seven grand nephews and one niece. He was predeceased by his nephew, Michael Andrew DeMarr.

George was reared on his family's farm in White Plains, where he learned to grow tobacco, raise livestock, operate a saw mill and work in the repair shop. Mechanically inclined from a young age, he was known for being able to fix virtually anything. His love of vintage cars and trucks began early on as he helped to restore his father's Model T. It was borne out with his own restoration of a vivid green 1955 Chevrolet truck, which he drove happily for years. After attending Thomas Stone High School, he began his life-long career as a skillful and talented mechanic. He maintained heavy machinery for Jimmy Richards & Sons Excavating, Inc.

George had a keen sense of humor and always took time to share a laugh with family and friends. He will be remembered as kind hearted, helpful and hard-working, and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. Reverend Marvin Harris will hold the Funeral Service at 4 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

All arrangements have been made at Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., Charlotte Hall, MD.
