A two-year undercover police operation that infiltrated three motorcycle gangs has resulted in several arrests, today.
This morning, at approximately 6:00 a.m., several simultaneous arrest and search warrants were executed in Virginia, including Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Spotsylvania County, the City of Colonial Heights and the City of Petersburg. Two search warrants were also executed in Huntingtown and Owings, Maryland. Charges were placed for narcotics and firearms violations, the promotion of gang activity and various probation violations.
Beginning in early 2002, a Fairfax County police detective infiltrated the Red Devils Motorcycle Club which is sponsored by the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club located in North Beach, Maryland. Shortly thereafter, the detective became a member of the Fates Assembly Motorcycle Club which eventually became a prospective chapter of the Hells Angels. That prospective Virginia chapter of Hells Angels was sponsored by the New York City Chapter of Hells Angels. The investigation continues and further indictments, arrests and search warrants are anticipated. At this time all warrants are sealed and the information contained in them is not available for dissemination.
The Fairfax County Police Department and other area law enforcement agencies are well aware of the dangers sophisticated motorcycle gangs engaging in criminal activities are to the County. The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club has several chapters in the United States and countries around the world. The Fairfax County Police Department is committed to preventing all types of gang activities, whether they are street-level gangs or organized criminal enterprises, and are dedicated to investigating them.
