Tow Truck Collides with Calvert Sheriff in Sunderland


On Thursday morning at approximately 12:15 a.m., Sgt. Brian Bowen was involved in a motor vehicle collision at MD Route 2 and MD Route 4 in Sunderland. Based on the initial investigation, it appears that a tow truck was traveling southbound on MD Route 2, failed to stop at the flashing red light, jumped the concrete curb, and collided with Sgt. Bowen's police vehicle as he was traveling southbound on MD Route 4. Sgt. Bowen, the driver of the tow truck, and the passenger of the tow truck were all flown to Prince George's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Sgt. Bowen has since been released from the hospital and has minor injuries. The investigation is on going and charges are pending against the tow truck driver.
