Waldorf Walgreens Employee Foils Robber's Getaway


WALDORF, Md. - According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Department, on Dec. 20 at 1:07 a.m., officers responded to Walgreens located at 25 High Street in Waldorf for a report of a strong-arm robbery.

The officers' investigation revealed that the suspect entered the store, took merchandise to the register and handed the clerk cash. As the clerk opened the register, the suspect dove across the counter and stole cash. The suspect exited the store where he was confronted by another employee. A brief struggle ensued. The employee recovered all of the cash that was taken and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle waiting beside the store.

The suspect is described as a medium-complexioned black male with a low beard. He is between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches, weighs 200 to 230 pounds, and was wearing a black shirt, jeans, and a black coat.
