MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Sunday, January 14, 2007 10:07 pm, Tpr. McCartney responded to the Leonardtown Center for a reported disturbance. Contact was made with the complainant, Cynthia Marie Windsor, 25, of Waldorf. A wanted check of Ms. Windsor revealed an outstanding Charles County Bench Warrant for Failing To Appear on assault charges. A search incident to arrest revealed Ms. Windsor was in possession of CDS smoking device with burnt cocaine residence. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 11:00 am, TFC Linger was patrolling Rt. 235 in Lexington Park, when he stopped a 1991 Acura Legend for speeding. Contact was made with the driver, a black male, 18 of California and a warning was issued for the speed violation. Contact was made with the passenger, Paul Terrell Stewart, 32 of Mechanicsville, who exited the vehicle during a brief conversation. A pat down search for officer safety revealed a small bag of marijuana in his pants pocket. Mr. Stewart was placed under arrest for the possession of marijuana. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Stewart had approximately 440 grams of marijuana in a book bag. Mr. Stewart was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 12:23 am, TFC Nims was traveling on Rt. 245 in Hollywood when he stopped a 1990 GMC truck for crossing the center, double yellow line on several occasions. Contact was made with the driver, William Oliver Tucker, 18, of Hollywood. A strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag of marijuana. Mr. Tucker was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 21:25 pm, TFC Quade was patrolling Rt. 235 in the California/Lexington Park area when he observed a silver 2004 Dodge Neon. The vehicle looked similar to one involved in a 911 broadcast involving subjects displaying a handgun at passing motorists. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver and passenger in the vehicle. Both individuals exited the vehicle and a pat down search was performed for officer safety. An orange pill bottle containing marijuana was found on the passenger, a black male, 16 of Lusby. He was arrested for possession of marijuana and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing where he was later released to his mother. Investigation continues.

On Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 22:45 pm, Tpr Shughart stopped a 1996 Honda Accord traveling south bound on Rt. 235 in the north bound lanes in California. As Tpr. Shughart was exiting her vehicle, the driver of the Honda put her vehicle in reverse and backed into Tpr. Shughart's vehicle. (0782000863). Tpr. Shughart made contact with the driver, Cheryl Ann Moore, 48, of California, and detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. Ms. Moore was arrested for DWI. A search incident to arrest revealed Ms. Moore was in possession of approximately 22 grams of marijuana and 2 CDS smoking devices. Ms. Moore was transported to MSP Leonardtown for processing for the DWI. She was then transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.
