Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

CDS VIOLATION: Cpl. A. C. Moschetto conducted a traffic stop on Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick on January 12 at 3:33 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Tyson Black, 18 of North Beach, was found to be in possession of marijuana. A 14-year-old male passenger, also of North Beach, attempted to ingest a quantity of the drug but was stopped by Cpl. Moschetto. The juvenile was also found to be in possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was charged on a youth report with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and possession of CDS paraphernalia and released to a parent. Black was charged with possession of marijuana and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing and to await a hearing before a District Court Commissioner.

CDS VIOLATION: Brek S. Hall, 34 of Lusby, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana by Dep. John Harms on January 16 at 9:50 p.m. Hall was observed with the drugs while Harms was conducting a routine patrol in the area of Seahorse Beach inside the Chesapeake Ranch Estates.

THEFT: Dep. John Harms responded to a home on Solomons Island Road in Solomons for a theft report. The victim advised that a Megellan Road Mate 760 Global Positioning System was stolen from her locked vehicle on January 17 at around 10:00 a.m. Harms will continue the investigation of the $800 navigation system.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: The Neibauer Dental Office, located in a professional building on Steeple Chase Drive in Prince Frederick, was shot with a paint ball gun firing blue balls. The damage, which is not permanent, appears to have happened between January 17 and 18. DFC Pete Aurich will continue the investigation.

BURGLARY: A victim on Red Cloud Road in Lusby returned to his home on January 19 at 5:15 p.m. and discovered his front door ajar. Further investigation by Dep. John Harms revealed the door had been damaged and forced open. Nothing appeared missing from the home. Harms will continue to investigate.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown suspect(s) shot a victim's car window with what appears to be a BB gun on Ropeknot Road in Lusby between January 19 and 20. Dep. Richard Weems II will investigate the damage, estimated at $300.

THEFT: On Sunday January 21 at 10:33 a.m. two females from Washington D.C. were arrested and charged with theft after being observed stealing items totaling $24 from the Dunkirk Safeway and then fleeing southbound on Md. Rte 4. Cpl. Roscoe Jones conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and charged Shandy Lyles, 22, of N.E. Washington and a 17-year-old female of the same address with theft after locating the stolen items inside the vehicle. The juvenile was charged on a youth report and released to a guardian.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Cpl. Roscoe Jones responded to Mellomar Golf Park on Skaggs Road in Owings for a destruction of property call. The owner advised that between January 21 at 5:30 p.m. and January 22 at 7:30 a.m. unknown subject(s) drove an unknown type of vehicle on the golf course. In addition to the grass on the course, a wooden post, cable and some trees were damaged, totaling $10,000 in damage. The case remains under investigation by Cpl. Jones.
