MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 8:16 am, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a white Ford F-150 on Rt. 5 at Old Village Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Brian Elmer Mayor, 49, of Hollywood. A check through MVA revealed Mr. Mayor was driving on a revoked license and he was subsequently arrested. Mr. Mayor was found to be in possession of marijuana and a CDS smoking device. Mr. Mayor was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia and other related traffic charges.

On Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 10:43 pm, TFC Trossbach initiated a traffic stop on a brown Mercury Marquis on Rt. 235 in Lexington Park for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the driver, John Edward Nunley, Jr., 30, of Tall Timbers and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Nunley was found to be in possession of a plastic bag of marijuana. Mr. Nunley was arrested for possession of Marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Friday, March 23, 2007 at 6:38 pm, TFC Linger initiated a traffic stop on a white Mazda MPV on Morganza Turner Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Darius Timothy Woodland, 31, of California. A check through MVA revealed Mr. Woodland's driving privilege in Maryland is revoked. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Woodland was in possession of two small bags of cocaine on his person. Mr. Woodland was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where was charged with possession of cocaine and other related traffic charges.

On Friday, March 23, 2007 at 7:43 pm, TFC Quade initiated a traffic stop on a white Nissan Sentra on Rt. 246 in Lexington Park for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Jerome Garcia Barnes, Jr., 19, of Lexington Park. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Barnes was found to be in possession of cigar containing marijuana on his person. The passenger, Anthony George Queen, 41, of Lexington Park was also found to be in possession of cocaine. Both subjects were placed under arrest for possession of CDS and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Friday, March 23, 2007 at 8:30 pm, TFC Grimes initiated a traffic stop on a silver Saturn on Rt. 5 north of Rt. 246 in Great Mills for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, a 17 year old male, of California. An odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. The juvenile was found to be in possession of a small bag of marijuana on his person. A search incident to arrest revealed a large plastic bag of marijuana was located on the passenger side floorboard and a large plastic bag of marijuana was located in the trunk. Total weight of all the marijuana confiscated was 166.5 grams. The juvenile was taken to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing, where he was released to his parent pending action by Juvenile Services.

On Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:20 am, TFC Linger responded to the "Drag 'N' Inn" in Charlotte Hall for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with John Rudolph Jones, 32, of Mechanicsville and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. During the course of the investigation, Mr. Jones continued to be disorderly and was subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, resisting arrest and trespassing. (0782003503) After being placed in the patrol vehicle, Mr. Jones began kicking the dashboard of TFC Linger's car and subsequently shattered the windshield of the vehicle. He was additionally charged with Malicious Destruction of Property. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review.

On Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 8:55 am, Tpr. Adams responded to a reported malicious destruction of property to a motor vehicle in the 28000 block of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville. Contact was made with the 34 year old female, owner of a green Ford Windstar van. She advised unknown suspect(s) broke out the middle and rear windows on the passenger side of the mini van. Investigation continues.

On Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 5:56 pm, Tpr. McCartney initiated a traffic stop on a green Jeep Cherokee on All Faith Church Road in Mechanicsville for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Joseph Michael Decesaris, 27, of Mechanicsville. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Decesaris was found to be in possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Decesaris was charged with possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 7:35 am, Tpr. Shughart initiated a traffic stop on a gray Nissan Altima on Rt. 235 in Mechanicsville for failing to drive in a single lane. Contact was made with the driver, Anthony Wayne Wrenn, 22, of California and a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Wrenn was found to be in possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. He was arrested for the possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 12:55 pm, TFC Nims responded to the 22000 block of Old Rolling Road in California for a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the 46 year old male victim, who advised he was assaulted by his 16 year old son. The juvenile was arrested for 2nd degree assault and taken to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. The juvenile was later released to his father's custody pending action by Juvenile Services.
