Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On July 21 Dep. Paul Wood responded to Gambler's Sportswear, located in the Calvert Village shopping center on Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick for a burglary report. Unknown suspects had broken the front window of the establishment sometime overnight. Anyone with information please contact Det. Joe Hollinger at 410-535-2800 ext. 2457.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: Over $900 worth of items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle as it was parked in the 3800 block of 13th Street in Chesapeake Beach on July 21 at 1:00 in the morning. Dep. Mark Fitzgerald is investigating.

THEFT: An employee at the Lusby Dollar Store reported to Dep. John Harms that her flowered, blue cloth purse, containing $590 worth of valuables, was stolen from inside the store on July 22 at about 2:20 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Harms at 410-535-2800.

CDS VIOLATION: Dep. Jason Dean and DFC Marty McCarroll responded to a home on Hickory Ridge Road in Dunkirk on July 24 at 9:47 p.m. for a disturbance call. After investigation they determined that Lance M. Clift, 41 of North Beach, was in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

CDS VIOLATION: A seventeen-year-old male from Lusby was charged on a youth report on July 27 at 11:50 p.m. after Dep. Joseph Cullen responded to the area of Rousby Hall road near The Bitter End Road in Lusby for a report of a suspicious male. The juvenile was found to be in possession of alcohol and percocet. He was charged with possession of both and released to a parent.

DOP: A victim on Rio Grande Trail in Lusby advised Dep. Edwin Bradley that unknown suspect(s) cut a tire on his vehicle overnight between July 27 and 28 causing $200 in damage. Dep. Bradley is investigating.

CDS VIOLATION: F/Sgt. Matthew McDonough conducted a traffic stop on July 28 at 2:10 a.m. on Md. Rt. 4 just north of Solomons. The driver, later identified as Howard F. Whitney, Jr., 40 of Lusby, was found to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and charged.
