MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

On Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 4:47 pm, TFC Grimes responded to a reported Burglary in the 22000 block of Scott Circle in Lexington Park. Upon arrival contact was made with the male victim who advised unknown subject(s) burglarized his residence between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. He advised $550.00 in cash was taken from the residence. A check of the neighborhood was made as the investigation continues.

On Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 7:30 pm, the victim of a Theft over $500 responded to the Leonardtown Barrack to report the crime. TFC Lashley met with the complainant and took the information. On August 16, 2007 at 5:50 pm, TFC Lashley responded to the 29000 block of Jennifer Drive in Mechanicsville. Contact was made with the suspect/home owner who advised he had a Troy-Bilt 13hp pressure washer, stone bird bath and stand, two decorative balls and stone stands and nine stone animal figurines. The property which belonged to the complainant was returned to him. The investigation continues.

On Friday, August 17, 2007 at 3:47 pm, Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to a reported disturbance in the 21000 block of Winding Way in Lexington Park. Upon arrival contact was made with both the female and male subjects at the residence. During the investigation it was determined both parties were involved in a mutual physical assault. The investigation continues.

On Friday, August 17, 2007 at 6:20 pm, TFC Quade responded to a reported Shoplifting complaint at the CATO Fashions, 45315 Alton Lane in California. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female suspect, Candace Tenee Maddox, 18, of Lexington Park. She was found to be in possession of several articles of clothing she had stolen. A Criminal Citation was issued with a preliminary court date of September 9, 2007.

On Friday, August 17, 2007 at 11:50 pm, TFC Nims responded to a reported Assault in the 22000 bock of Sandra Lane in California. Upon arrival contact was made with both individuals outside the residence. The male suspect, Robert Lee Raley, 25, of California went back inside the residence and fled out the back door into the woods. An attempt to locate the suspect was made with negative results. A short time later, TFC Nims was dispatched back to the residence when he observed the suspect. A short foot chase ensued and Mr. Raley was apprehended. He was arrested for Assault and Resisting Arrest. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 3:34 am, TFC Nims responded to a reported Trespassing complaint in the 43000 block of Megan Lane in Leonardtown. Upon arrival contact was made with the female complainant, who advised Robert Clayton Walnetski, 24, of Mechanicsville was trespassing. Mr. Walnetski refused to leave. TFC Nims took the suspect into custody for trespassing and transported him to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 1:06 am, Tpr. M. Adams initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet truck on Route 234 at Chaptico Park in Chaptico for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Joshua Andrew Barrett, 23, of La Plata. A check of MVA revealed Mr. Barrett's driving privileges were suspended in Maryland. Mr. Barrett was arrested for driving while suspended. A search incident to arrest revealed a partially burnt marijuana cigar located in the front seat of the truck. Mr. Barrett was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly.

On Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 7:18 pm, TFC Quade responded to a Theft under $500 and Malicious Destruction of Property to a motor vehicle in the San Souci Plaza in California. Contact was made with the female victim who advised unknown suspect(s) cut the convertible top on her 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and took the XM Satellite radio and 10 CD's from the vehicle. The investigation continues.

On Tuesday, August 15, 2007 at 2:00 pm, TFC Rossignol served two Arrest Warrants (T3-11218) and (T3-12766) on Paul Unkle, 31, of Leonardtown. The charges were for Escapee / Failing to report to the St. Mary's County Detention Center as ordered by the Court. Mr. Unkle was in custody in Florida and was extradited back to St. Mary's County to complete his sentencing for 2nd Degree Assault.

On Tuesday, August 15, 2007 at 8:30 pm, Tpr. Brill served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-12988) on Lawrence Joseph Somerville, 47, of Clements. The warrant was served on Mr. Somerville at the St. Mary's County Detention Center for Possession of Cocaine.

On Tuesday, August 15, 2007 at 8:30 pm, TFC E. Evans served a Bench Warrant (T3-12994) on Kevin Bryan Wright, 23, of California. Mr. Wright failed to appear in District Court in Leonardtown earlier this date. He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

On Tuesday, August 15, 2007 at 8:30 pm, TFC E. Evans served a Bench Warrant (T3-12989) on Christopher Wayne Standen, 20, of California. The warrant was served on Mr. Standen as a result of his failure to pay fines on prior marijuana possession charges. He is being held in the St. Mary's County Detention Center.
