MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (September 20, 2007) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

FALSE STATEMENT: On Sept. 12, 1:59 PM, Rt. 2/4, Prince Frederick, TFC Bowling stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop, it was discovered that the operator had given TFC Bowling a fictitious name and was driving without a license. Arrested at that time for false statement to a police officer was Obbie Levi Commodore, 44, of Prince Frederick. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sept. 14, 12:30 AM, Rt. 231, Prince Frederick, TFC Bowling stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. A consent search was obtained from the operator and suspected marijuana, prescription drugs, and paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. Arrested at that time for possession of marijuana, Vicodin, Percocet, and paraphernalia was Christopher James Whittington, 23, of Prince Frederick. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: On Sept. 14, 6:15 PM, a resident of Stephen Reid Rd., Huntingtown, came home to find that someone had attempted to enter the residence through a bedroom window. TPR Roy is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sept. 16, 1:39AM, TPR Towers was dispatched to Grays Rd., Prince Frederick, for the report of a single-vehicle accident. When he arrived on the scene, he observed the vehicle to be overturned and unoccupied. A search of the vehicle produced CDS paraphernalia, containing suspected marijuana, and a temporary registration card with the owner’s name, Terrence Lamont Chew, 28, of Mason Rd., Prince Frederick. CPL Moschetto, CCSO, responded to that location and was told he was at an apartment on Shore Acres Way, Prince Frederick. CPL Moschetto responded there, and Mr. Chew admitted to driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. TPR Towers then placed him under arrest for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia and leaving the scene of an accident. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Sept. 16, between 6:15 AM and 9:48 AM, an unknown culprit threw paint on the entrance sign, lights, and plants at the Timberneck subdivision, Briscoes Turn Rd., Owings. Damage is estimated at $2,000.00. TPR Merkelson is handling the investigation.

THEFT/POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sept. 16, 3:05 PM, TPR Towers responded to Church Rd., Broomes Island, for the report of an abandoned vehicle. Upon his arrival, a MVA check was conducted and revealed that the tags displayed on the vehicle had been reported stolen on Aug. 9, from a residence on Parker’s Creek Rd., Port Republic. TPR Towers then made contact with the complainant. As he was speaking to him, he observed a car stop next to the abandoned vehicle. The passenger got out and entered the abandoned vehicle. As the vehicle drove by TPR Towers, he stopped it and placed the operator, Justin Travers Hurley, 19, of St. Leonard, under arrest for theft (<$100). Incident to arrest, suspected marijuana was located in the vehicle. He was then charged with possession of marijuana. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.

THEFT: During the overnight hours of Sept. 16, an unknown culprit entered a vehicle on Hale Ct., Huntingtown, and removed a JVC stereo and CD’s. The culprit also attempted to enter a second vehicle, causing damage to a lock. TFC Johns is handling the investigation.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Sept. 18, 7:10 PM, Rt. 231, Prince Frederick, TPR Chirichella stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Upon contact with the operator, TPR Chirichella detected the odor of suspected marijuana. A search was conducted and suspected marijuana and paraphernalia were located. Arrested at that time for possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia was Keith Jon Bucca, 21, of Huntingtown. After processing, he was transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
