Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Dec. 18, 2007) - The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DOP: Dep. James Bell responded to Rousby Hall Road in Lusby for a report of individuals throwing sticks at vehicles on December 11 at 3:30 p.m. The complainant advised that as she was driving along Rousby Hall Road she saw unknown suspect(s) throwing sticks at her vehicle. No damage was done to the complainants' vehicle but she advised that she knew of two other people this happened to. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Bell at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: Sometime between December 11 and 13 unknown suspect(s) stole a red and black Briggs & Stratton wood splitter worth $500 from a yard on Wild Goose Way in Dunkirk. DFC Marty McCarroll is investigating.

CDS VIOLATION: The seventeen-year-old male passenger in a vehicle stopped for speeding was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana on December 12 at about 4:00 p.m. on Governors Run Road in Lusby. Dep. Justin Livingston charged the juvenile, of Port Republic, on a youth report with possession of marijuana and released him to a parent.

ASSAULT: On December 12 at 5:51 p.m. Dep. Mark Robshaw attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle whose driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The driver, later identified as Joanna Gawlik, 43 of Lusby, drove to her home and attempted to shut the garage door on the officer. After placing Gawlik under arrest for DUI, she became disorderly and kicked the window of Dep. Robshaw's patrol vehicle, causing $350 in damage. Gawlik also assaulted Correctional Officer Collette Bivens at the Calvert County Detention Center by kicking her in the leg. Gawlik is charged with DUI, second degree assault, destruction of property, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

DOP: Three mailboxes on Hilendale Way in Prince Frederick were damaged between December 14 and 15. Total damage is estimated at $70. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. Edwin Bradley at 410-535-2800

CDS VIOLATION: After conducting a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on December 15 at about 2:04 a.m., Dep. Elvis Carter made contact with the driver, later identified as Sally A. Acevedo, 45 of Port Republic, and determined her to be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected marijuana. Acevedo was arrested and charged with DWI and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

CDS VIOLATION: While on routine patrol on December 17 at 1:22 a.m. in the Chesapeake Ranch Estates Dep. John Harms made contact with the driver and passenger of a vehicle not in possession of the required sticker to be in the area of Seahorse Beach. The driver, later identified as Robin C. Cresong, 20 of Lusby, was found to be driving on a suspended license. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected cocaine. Cresong was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license and the 15-year-old male, also of Lusby, was charged on a youth report with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia and released to a parent.
