Indian Head Woman Dies After Head-on Caused by Driving in Wrong Lane


LA PLATA, Md. (Dec. 20, 2007)—A 54-year-old Indian Head woman lost her life in a vehicle accident on northbound Md. Route 224, north of Harris Place last Friday, Dec. 14 around 2:43 p.m. Police say Tomajean Vanlowe was driving a 2003 Ford F-150 truck in the wrong lane when she was struck head-on by Chris Eric Simmons, 48, of Marbury. Simmons was traveling southbound in the proper lane driving a 1990 Ford F-150 truck.

Vanlowe was transported by ambulance to Civista were she succumbed to her injuries.

Simmons was flown by Maryland State Police (MSP) helicopter Trooper 2 to Prince Georges Shock Trauma.
