LA PLATA, Md. (April 16, 2008) - The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) recently released the following incident and arrest reports.
On April 13, 2008, at approximately 2:54 a.m., Trooper A. Ford was on routine patrol in the area of southbound Route 301, south of Sub Station Road. Trooper Ford stopped Antonio Lamont Preston, 21, of Waldorf, for a traffic violation; smelled the odor of marijuana. He searched the vehicle and recovered a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana and a partially full beer can. Preston was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and driving while impaired.
On April 16, 2008, at approximately 1:50 a.m., Corporal T. Quade was conducting stationary radar on U.S. Route 301, south of Smallwood Drive. Corporal Quade stopped Ricardo L. Jones, 21, of Altavista, Va. for a traffic violation; smelled the odor of marijuana. He searched the vehicle and recovered a plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana. Jones was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
