MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (Oct. 3, 2008) - The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On 09/23/08 at 4:45 pm, Trooper Saucerman responded to a residence on Williams Wharf Road in St. Leonard for a reported burglary. Unknown suspects entered the victim's residence and removed the heat pump, air conditioning unit and light fixtures. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at (410) 535-1400.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 09/27/08 at 1:30 am, in the area of MD Route 261 and MD Route 260, North Beach, Trooper Laziuck stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. The driver, identified as Kevin Daniel Hardy, 23, of Edgewater, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol. A search incident to arrest revealed marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia on Hardy's person. Hardy was subsequently transported to the Prince Frederick Barrack for processing and later incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT: Trooper Cavill is investigating a theft of tires, copper wire, and car batteries from a residence on Joyce Lane in Huntingtown. The items were stolen from the victim's residence sometime between 9/20/08 and 9/26/08. The items stolen are valued at approximately $350.00 each. The tires are XT-120 HR 4 tires. THEFT: Trooper First Class Dawson responded to a residence on Solomons Island Road in Huntingtown for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Sometime between 9/22/08 and 9/25/08, unknown suspect(s) removed the front driver side tire and wheel from the victim's Ford Ranger. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at (410) 535-1400.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 9/21/08 at 1:15pm, Trooper Laziuck responded to a residence on Country Way in Dunkirk for a report of malicious destruction of property. Unknown suspect(s) knocked the victim's mailbox off of the stand. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at (410)535-1400.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 09/2/08 at 1:20am, in the area of Solomons Island Road and Ball Road, St. Leonard, Trooper First Class Murphy stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. As the vehicle came to a stop, TFC Murphy observed a plastic bag fall out of the driver's side window. The bag was found to contain marijuana. Three juvenile occupants were arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. One 16 year-old juvenile was from Landover. The other two juveniles, a 16 year-old and a 17 year-old were both from Bowie. All three were transported to the Prince Frederick Barrack for processing and later released to their parents.
