MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (Oct. 6, 2008) - The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:27 am, Quentin Jamar Brundidge, 20, of Hollywood was arrested by Cpl. J. Linger for possession of Marijuana. Mr. Brundidge was operating a black Honda Accord when he was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Brundidge and a routine check of MVA revealed the vehicle registration expired July 2008 and his driving privileges are suspended. Mr. Brundidge was arrested for driving on a suspended license. He was also issued a criminal citation for possessing an expiration sticker which was not issued for the vehicle he was operating. A search incident to arrest revealed Mr. Brundidge was in possession of clear baggie of marijuana. Mr. Brundidge was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

FIGHT, ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 5:48 pm, TFC J. Stern responded to the reported Disturbance in the 45000 block of Circle Drive in Lexington Park. Upon arrival, contact was made with the female complainant, 49, of Lexington Park who advised she witnessed four males in a red Saturn engaged in a fight with several other males in the area. When the police were called the four males departed the area in the red Saturn. A broadcast was made and the vehicle was later located. The witness was recontacted and positively identified Nathaniel Lee Davis III, 18, of Lusby as the aggressor in the fight. He was placed under arrest and a search incident to the arrest revealed Mr. Davis was in possession of Vyvanse (Schedule II Amphetamine) not prescribed to him. Mr. Davis was taken into custody, transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 10:50 am, Susan L. Abels, 43, of Lexington Park was arrested by Tpr. M. Pitcher for possession of prescription medications not prescribed to her. Ms. Abels was operating a blue Toyota Avalon on south bound Route 235 at Rescue Lane in Hollywood when she was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Abels was found to be in possession of several controlled dangerous substances. Ms. Abels was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

ARREST WARRANT: On Monday, September 29, 2008 at 11:24 pm, Gerald Gerome Keemer, 42, of Lusby was arrested by Tpr. D. Brill on an outstanding Circuit Court warrant (T3-13424) for failing to appear for an arraignment in circuit court on May 19, 2008. The original charge was for driving on a suspended license. Mr. Keemer was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ARREST WARRANT: On Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 9:05 pm, Steven Allen Brooks, 21, of Hollywood was served a Bench Warrant (T3-13630) for Violation of Probation. Mr. Brooks was already incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was being held on unrelated charges. The original charge on the Bench Warrant was for Theft. Mr. Brooks continues to be detained in the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 1:45 pm, TFC J. Stern responded to the 29000 block of Oak Road in Mechanicsville for the reported malicious destruction of property under $100.00. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 66, of Mechanicsville and the female complainant, 61, of Mechanicsville. Both complainants advised their mailboxes were damaged between 8:00 pm on September 30, 2008 and 2:00 pm on October 1, 2008. Neighborhood checks were conducted in an attempt to obtain suspect information but were met with negative results. Damage to the two mailboxes was estimated at $75.00. The investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 12:10 pm, Sarah Elizabeth Gibson, 22, of Mechanicsville, was arrested by Tpr. E. Page for possession of marijuana. Ms. Gibson was operating a blue Subaru Legacy on south bound Three Notch Road, south of Hollywood Road in Hollywood when she was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit. Contact was made with the driver, Ms. Gibson and a routine MVA check revealed her driving privileges were suspended. Ms. Gibson was taken into custody and arrested for driving on a suspended license. A search incident to arrest revealed Ms. Gibson was in possession of a plastic baggie of marijuana. Ms. Gibson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Friday, October 3, 2008 at 11:17 am, Jason Earl Richards, 22, of Mechanicsville, was arrested by Tpr. N. Gresko for possession of cocaine and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Richards was operating a blue Chevrolet Blazer when he was stopped on Three Notch Road at Golden Beach Road in Mechanicsville for an equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Mr. Richards and a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. Mr. Richards was later found to be in possession of a metal CDS smoking device containing marijuana and a small plastic baggie containing cocaine. Mr. Richards was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ASSAULT: On Friday, October 3, 2008 at 11:36 pm, TFC R. Rezza responded to the 24000 block of Horse Shoe Road in Clements for the reported assault 2nd degree. Upon arrival, contact was made with the male complainant, 18, of Great Mills, who advised he was assaulted by Gary Mitchell Quade, Jr. as his father, Gary Mitchell Quade, Sr. held the complainant while the son assaulted him. The two suspects departed the scene prior to the police arriving. At approximately 1:04 am on October 4, 2008, the suspects returned to the residence and the police were called for another disturbance. When TFC Rezza arrived on the scene for the second reported disturbance, both of the Quade's, father and son, were taken into custody, placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were charged accordingly and held pending a bond review.

ASSAULT: On Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 7:53 am, Tpr. J. Pilkerton responded to the 41000 block of Norris Circle in Leonardtown for the reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with female complainant, 26, of Leonardtown who advised she was assaulted by Jerome Antonio Gladden, 26, of Lexington Park. The complainant also provided Tpr. Pilkerton with a copy of an Ex-Parte` which was against Mr. Gladden. The Ex-Parte` was issued on May 27, 2008 and does not expire until November 26, 2008. Mr. Gladden was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was detained pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 3:52 pm, Shawn Michael Kovacic, 25, of Mechanicsville, was arrested by Tpr. C. Evans for possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Kovacic was operating a red Ford Escort when he was stopped on North Sandgates Road at Garner Road in Mechanicsville for not being restrained by his seatbelt. During the course of the traffic stop, Mr. Kovacic was found to be in possession of a metal CDS smoking device and a small baggie of Marijuana. Mr. Kovacic was taken into custody and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending a bond review.

ILLEGAL DRUGS: On Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 3:42 am, Shanae Elizabeth Dorsey, 18, of Leonardtown, was arrested by TFC R. Rezza for possession of marijuana. Ms. Dorsey was a passenger in a blue Ford Taurus traveling south on Point Lookout Road, in the area of Moll Dyer Road in Leonardtown when the vehicle was stopped for failing to drive in a single lane. Sgt. Redmond initiated the traffic stop and contact was made with the female driver, 18, of Waldorf and smelled a distinct odor of burnt marijuana. During the course of the traffic stop, Ms. Dorsey was found to be in possession of a small baggie of marijuana. She was taken into custody by TFC R. Rezza and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and detained pending a bond review.
