LA PLATA, Md. (February 1, 2013)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY: On Jan. 30 between 3 p.m. - 3:15 p.m., an unknown suspect approached a 24-year-old man who was walking on St. Thomas Drive and snatched his MP3 player. The suspect is described as a black male, 20's, dreadlocks and wearing a red hooded shirt. The victim was not injured. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. DRUG ARREST: On Jan. 23 at 12:58 a.m., Cpl. J. Burroughs initiated a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf. During the stop, Cpl. Burroughs developed information indicating drugs may be inside the vehicle. A police drug detection dog responded and gave a positive alert indicating the presence of drugs. Inside the car, officers found 8 bags of marijuana wrapped in small bags ready for sale, 7 zip lock baggies containing marijuana and an additional 60 grams of marijuana in several larger bags. Four large containers containing evidence of marijuana were also found. In addition, a loaded handgun, a digital scale, cash, and 175 unused plastic baggies were also recovered. The driver, Malik Michael Cooper, 22, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of a handgun in commission of a felony, possession of a handgun in a vehicle, and possession of a firearm during drug trafficking. Cooper's car and cash were seized for forfeiture.

BURGLARY: On Jan. 30 at 9 p.m., officers responded to the 4400 block of Eagle Court in Waldorf for the report of a burglary. Investigation showed unknown suspect(s) pushed out the frame from a rear door and made entry. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole jewelry and a television. Officers canvassed the neighborhood and located someone who said they saw a strange car parked in the neighborhood and observed a male, wearing a hooded sweat shirt, emerge from the victim's house. The police were not contacted. The Charles County Sheriff's Office is reminding citizens to contact police anytime they see or hear something suspicious. CITIZEN ROBBERY: On Jan. 29 at 8:11 p.m., officers responded to the area of Milstead Court and Osborne Court in Waldorf for a report of a citizen robbery. The victim, 18, said an unknown male approached him, produced a gun and demanded his wallet. The victim complied and the suspect fled. A police K-9 team responded and conducted a track. ROBBERY: On Jan. 29 at 2:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of Westdale Drive in Waldorf for the report of a citizen robbery. Investigation showed the victim, 18, was approached by two males who demanded his coat; the coat was not a designer brand. The suspects then pulled a gun but the victim thought it was a pellet gun so he walked away. The suspects followed and assaulted the victim and then took his coat. One suspect is described as a black male, 6'2", 275-300 lbs., wearing a white tee shirt with black long sleeves. He had a dark complexion and wore his hair in dreadlocks. The other suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion and a slim build. He has a tattoo on his face and wore his hair in shoulder length dreadlocks.
