MSP Reports for St. Mary's Co.


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 15, 2014)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On Saturday, July 12 at 1:56 pm, Tpr. W. Couter responded to the Walmart in California for a reported shoplifting. A female suspect gave Tpr. Couter a fictitious name and date of birth. A search incident to arrest revealed documentation to prove the suspect was Monique H. Gray, 22, of Lexington Park. She was arrested for Theft Under $1000 and False Name to a Police Officer. She was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. (14-MSP-021666)

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, July 12 at 9:15 pm, Tpr. C. Ruth initiated a traffic stop on a black passenger car on Route 5 and Route 243 for a minor traffic infraction. Tpr. Ruth made contact with the driver, Caron Jermaine Lawrence, 24, of Leonardtown, and detected a strong odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, resulting in the recovery of CDS. Mr. Lawrence was placed under arrest and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was charged with Possession of CDS: Marijuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and later released. (14-MSP-021700)

DRUG ARREST, THEFT: On Sunday, July 13 at 2:38 pm, TFC E. Mersman responded to the 26000 block of Stone Corner Lane, Mechanicsville for a report of a theft. TFC Mersman obtained a description of the suspect, and located Joseph Michael Burkhard, III, 31, of Mechanicsville, walking along the access road for the Maryland International Raceway. He detained Mr. Burkhard and located suspected CDS and paraphernalia on his person. Mr. Burkhard was placed under arrest and was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. He was charged with Theft Less than $100, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia and later released. (14-MSP-021808)

THEFT: On Sunday, July 13 at 2:43 pm, Tpr. C. Ruth responded to the Walmart in California for a reported shoplifting. Kristina Michelle Gunderson, 25, of Chaptico, was arrested for Theft less than $100. She was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for processing and later released. Shawn Lloyd Shaw, 35, of California, served on 7/10/2014 at 4:53 pm for Assault First Degree, Reckless Endangerment (3 counts), and Assault Second Degree (4 counts) (2014-00240611)
