Hoyer to Host Social Security Town Hall Meeting in Waldorf

Hoyer Will “Debate” President Bush on Social Security

On Tuesday, March 29th, U.S. Representative Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) will host a Town Hall meeting with residents from Southern Maryland to discuss strengthening Social Security. Rep. Hoyer will take on the President’s privatization proposals directly by responding to a Republican-produced video of the President discussing the Administration’s risky plans to privatize Social Security.

Congressman Hoyer will be joined by former Congresswoman Barbara B. Kennelly, President of the non-profit, non-partisan National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. Rep. Hoyer invites all residents from Southern Maryland to participate in this town hall meeting so that they can learn firsthand the facts about Social Security and how proposals being presented by the Bush Administration will affect their Social Security benefit.
