Thefts Plague Charles Past Week


THEFT SCHEME: Between January 2 and May 14, Carolyn Theresa Holland, 45, of Clinton was an employee of Sears at 11170 Mall Circle in Waldorf. During this time, she obtained Sears gift cards under fictitious names and made purchases. Holland was charged on May 18 with Theft Scheme More Than $500, six counts of Theft Less Than $500 and Theft More Than $500. She is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer R. Williams investigated.

THEFT: Sometime between 7 p.m. on May 20 and 1 p.m. on May 22, suspect(s) stole the front tires off a riding lawn mower at a residence in the 7000 block of Carroll Drive in Bryans Road and fled the scene. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Charles County Sheriff's Office at 301-743-2222. Officer C. Caldwell is investigating.

THEFT: On May 20 at 8:30 p.m., Officer J. Timko responded to JC Penney at 11130 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of shoplifters in custody. Investigation revealed Marci Anntonett Harris, 39, and Ronald Antwon Tucker, 20; both of Washington, D.C., concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying but were detained by loss prevention officers. They were charged with Theft Less Than $500 and are being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending appearances before the District Court Commissioner.

THEFT: On May 20 at 6:30 p.m., Officer J. Timko responded to JC Penney at 11130 Mall Circle in Waldorf for the report of shoplifters in custody. Investigations revealed Maegan Sherwood and Kimberly Ann Gordon, both 20 and of Waldorf, concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying but were detained by loss prevention officers. They were charged with Theft Less Than $500 and released.
